EA Hits Back At FIFA Switch Reports And Says It’s Custom Built For The Console

You probably saw yesterday that Tom Phillips from Eurogamer tweeted that FIFA for the Nintendo Switch will be based on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. Well, EA’s Peter Moore has hit back at this report and simply says that the game is custom-built for the platform and has linked to the company’s press release. The game is expected to hit the Nintendo Switch this year.

  1. It doesn’t suprise me that eurogamer are talking shit about a Nintendo console/game. They have always been anti Nintendo

    1. It sounded more like eurogamer was talking more about EA’s lack of enthusiasm for true support on the Switch rather than bashing the console. It’s like saying EA is only releasing last gen titles to show proof of support with little to no effort on EA’s behalf as a pr stunt.

        1. The fact that EA actually made a comment in support of Nintendo says a lot. All the idiots who kept popping shit that EA hates Nintendo just sound dumb, as EA wasn’t going to support the horrible Wii U

  2. 😂😂😂😂Tom Philips is a complete joke!He thought Snipperclips would be garbage…..Thdn was devastated when he saw the reaction to it!😂
He a Nintendo hater who cannot handle Zelda is better than anything released on PS4 and it’s a day 1 launch game!

      1. Which still supports his point, no offense. The fact the Wii U is getting a better game than most games on PS4 is also sad. But in terms of the Switch version, you WILL be missing out by quite a bit by sticking with the Wii U version. That and…. that’ll likely be the last new game you get for the Wii U as Nintendo NEVER supports consoles after they’re replaced.

  3. Hmmm… notice EA didn’t state its not based off the aged Xbox360/PS3 but did a play on words stating its “Custom built..”. I now believe the rumors that its nothing more than a rehash version of last gen. EA just trying to do damage control for their soon to be half ass Fifa Switch game.

  4. Custom build, as in a list of features removed from the game.
Are they gonna launch this shit at the same time when they launch Fifa 18 for other consoles?

  5. Who fucking cares it’s fifa. A weak offering from EA. “Our best selling game.” Yea in europe, and your best selling game is still just a copy and paste pile of annual shit. It was a way for EA to “show support” without really much effort or risk. Open ya eyes kids.

    1. Being copy paste each year or not, it IS a fun game…

And it being their most popular game in Europe or not doesn’t change the fact it’s still their most popular game overall. Seriously, the game sells world wide much better than any other title they produce.

Lastly, I think you guys need to lay off a bit. Regardless what kind of initial support we get from EA, like it or not, we NEED them to stay around. A system with only 1st party support ends up like the Wii U every time (Wii U, Dreamcast, GameCube, 3DO, 32X/CD, Atari Lynx… I could go on…). If the system sells well, and their software sales do better, the next release bunch of games you see from them will be much better.

After the first day of being full of excitement for Switch yesterday, today I’m starting to be critical of all the bad news coming out, so I wonder how long before a fanboy will come at me.

          1. Only a matter of time haha. I’m gonna try and lay off, that’s part of the reason I left for a while, too many blind fanboys, and I don’t really like getting into fights with people especially when they get angry and have the same defense and excuses as any other fanboy. They bring out the worst in people haha.

And is why you’re not a certain awesome Power Rangers villain anymore. >.<

I’m always gonna be King Kalas X3 no matter how much drama attaches to the name. Speaking of… *adds a slight change to name* There we go!

When I do change my name from Kalas, I at least keep X3 in there. I use it in all of my nicknames for my amiibo.

                      amiibo, too*

  6. I think Nintendo should be more proactive in defence of their own console. Nintendo should not have allowed Fifa 17 on the platform. They should have told EA either give us your newest game in the series, or nothing at all. Fifa 18 will release in Sept. 2017, and any Fifa fan will not buy 17 on any platform so close to 18 release date… By Nintendo allowing EA to put 17 on the system it gives the illusion that the Switch is already outdated…

Wtf, how come nobody over at Nintendo understands this shit?? A company full of people with Masters and PHD’s yet not a single one of them have any common fucking sense..

    1. No-one has stated that it is FIFA 17. Not EA, not Nintendo. It has so far been advertised simply as ‘FIFA’, which is most likely because the next iteration, FIFA 18, has itself not been announced or released yet.

  7. Omega Kalas Ridley X3 (Greatness Awaits at Nintendo Switch & Sony PlayStation 4! Come join us in the Light of Darkness!!)

I figured it would be custom built. No point being at the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 event in Japan if it was just gonna be some lame port. I still don’t trust them, though, so I’ll believe it when I see it. I’m still giving them the benefit of a doubt.

  8. In all actuality its us the consumers who are responsible for these crappy ports. Why because true gammers own at least 2 of the 3 major systems. Nintendo is treated as a novelty for most gammers where we have our 1 or 2 go to franchises within the Nintendo world and we keep it at that. Have you be that of Zelda, Mario, Smash Bros, ect.
We the consumers pick up FIFA on the system we play the most which would more then likely be the Playstation or Xbox.

So tell me…. Why would EA even try on the Switch? I assure you the Switch version of this game won’t hold a candle to FIFA 18 on PS or Xbox for more then one reason.

    1. It’s the 1st installment of the game and they are always bad. (example NHL on PS4 its first year)

    2. Online support— We play these games for the online leagues and different drop in modes… if no one switches to the switch then how could we possibly have huge leagues.

    3. Graphics– its funny how most gammers get so orgasmic over specs and power of the machines when they fail to realize that even in the last year of the life cycle of a system the most demanding games are only using like 60% of the systems capabilities. I am sure I’m exaggerating a little but your cookie cutter game like FIFA uses like no % of the systems power.
You can’t tell me that EA can’t make FIFA EXACTLY the same on the Switch as on ANY other machine. Its just little dudes running on a field smoothly kicking a ball.

I only owned FIFA 1 time in my life (besides back in the sega super nes days) and that was because of the NHL debacle on the PS4 in its first year where my friend and I could not create our own league. Traded in hockey and got FIFA…. and FIFA was AmAzInG!…. however we prefer NHL.

With all that nonsense said what this all really boils down to is how the system is received. You can not be pissed when the first installment of a game is not amazing… but you can still support it. I will be playing FIFA on the Switch when it comes out….. and I will continue to play FIFA on the Switch until NHL is on the Switch haha.

If you build it they will come (field of dreams)
I see so much potential for this console its fricken crazy. Like hey were all going out to the bar wanna come with? Sure…. y’all gonna bring your Switch? Study break from homework… break out the Switch. Freaking head to head combat as good, better or almost as good and the other 2 systems BUT in your pocket. Yes Please! Everyones got there heads down in smart phones everywhere anyways liking stupid memes and other pointless stuff…. Why not a Switch instead.

EA…. If you read this please make NHL on the switch…. I don’t care if its not as good as the other 2 systems….. to play some EA sports games in a bar with your friends on this hopefully amazing little Nintendo thing would be the best ever. ALSO….. DO NOT make the game gimmicky to fit the (wii mote era type of play) Think Nintendo Switch pro controller.

  9. This Will Lose Money.Do Not Worry.EA Are Probaly Going To Do What They Did With The WiiU Make Fifa 13 For It And No One Bought It So No Fifa 14 The Next Year So Fifa Switch (Prediction Name) Won’t Get Fifa Switch 2 Unless Fifa Switch Sells Lots Of Money$$$
