Two franchises that Nintendo fans want on the Switch are Metroid and Mother 3 and so far neither have been announced by the company for their upcoming platform. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has acknowledged this in a recent interview with GameSpot and says that publications need to talk to him in a years time and see whether these things have happened. Hopefully this means that we can expect something this E3, who knows?
“Oh, so earlier today I got asked about Mother 3; maybe you can ask me about Metroid. Look, again, I am proud as an executive with Nintendo to say that we look at all of the boards and all of the comments and we really have a good understanding of what our consumers want. And believe me, we take that to heart as we work to create content. So I have nothing to announce–here. But we are aware that there are some key IP that consumers just can’t wait for the next true installment in that franchise’s legacy. Suffice it to say, we’re aware of it, and talk to me in a year and let’s look back and see what’s happened.”

LIke 1, 2, Switch. LIke ARMS. Like Snipperclips. We begged for those games for years! Good that Nintendo had plenty of time after the Wii U failed to make those awesome games. Absolute system sellers. Gonna pick up 10 Switch systems right at launch to support Nintendo, so they can make more of those tripple A games!
Nintendo isn’t 100% focused on selling to us die hard Nintendo fans exclusively, the thing with Nintendo is that they’re all about getting the non-gamers in on the fun too. Take Wii Sports into consideration, hell my Grandma played Wii Sports, and did anyone ask for it? No? So yes I believe Nintendo is taking our feedback into consideration but also trying to sell their console to the widest audience possible, and developing games like 1-2 Switch, Arms, and SnipperClips has the opportunity to peak the interests of those extremely casual gamers, While giving to the hardcore fans as well with Zelda, Splatoon, and Mario.

Reggie is just an NoA puppet for Japan. I’ve seen him really become such when the Wii U was being pushed by him. The biggest thing I learned is that, Reggie isn’t a gamer and just a guy from New York who use to do marketing for Little Caesars pizza. That’s it.

federation force was not Nintendo’s next Metroid game.it was an exprimental game that someone wanted to created based off of metoid. kinda like wind walker for gamecube
To be fair, they did finally end region lock out for the Switch and they actually (from what I’ve seen) fixed what was wrong with Mario Kart 8 in the Switch version. But Nintendo of America in particular does not have a good track record with showing that it pays attention to the desires of the fans

Yeah, like the item-holding metagame (hold a banana peel behind you with a shell in your item slot ready for deployment after dropping the peel, for example).
Hopefully, there is a slight chance for a Metroid Prime 4. Federation Force’s secret ending, should you have taken a Metroid egg in the Metroid mission, shows Sylux hatching it in a Galactic Federation base, obviously planning something to do with it to get revenge on the Federation and Samus for defeating him.
There’s a translation available for free. I don’t want Reggie or any of the Treehouse cucks fucking up Mother 3 with their memes and censorship. At least the NX has no region lock, so I can avoid their shit altogether.
Assuming the Switch actually has games, that is.

In regards to Mother 3, they’ve been aware of it for about a decade now. I don’t think we’ll be getting it anytime soon.

I have been following MNN for many years but this is my first comment.
So here are some games I would like to see that we haven’t seen in a while.
New Metroid game, like Metroid Prime or a 2D game like the gba games.
F-zero, it’s been 13 years since GX. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel or anything, just a new game in the series would make us happy.
Mother 3, one of the most beloved Nintendo franchises that we here in the west have been longing for.
Also listen to fans when making new games in the Mario Party and Paper Mario series.
They have no clue what people want. In fact they seem to do things completely opposite of what people want. Want to sell a trillion of these new consoles? Create a new 8 or 16 bit Zelda and/or 2D Metroid as a downloadable or packed in game and people would buy them in droves. Probably would cost them 500K in dev costs. There are so many simple things they could do to win back fans that they won’t even consider. Bizarre company.
You know what fans want? Well, I never saw any fans clamouring for a udder/cow milking simulator.
