Early Nintendo Switch testers have discovered that the upcoming system includes an airplane mode, which temporarily disables certain functions such as WiFi and Bluetooth. This may come in handy for those who are planning to take their console with them on their flight travels, as many airlines prohibit the use of equipment that transmit radio-frequency signals. Nintendo Switch is set to launch worldwide on March 3 for $299.99.
I actually noticed that in one of the Nintendo Switch introductory videos.
Bet that save some battery.
I’m sure it will. Is it confirmed that Airplane Mode actually saves battery on mobile/electronic devices?
I can personally confirm it. My battery is going bad in my Nexus 6P and to get through a full day of work I have to put it into airplane mode and then turn on wifi. (Basically just turning off the mobile radio).
If I turn off Wifi AND the radio then my phone basically loses zero power idling through the day.
I love how the menu look, it look so mature like and i think they drop the whole mii characters thing, since Nintendo did stated that they moving away from wii brands and they did confirm that miiverse and streetpass are not going to be on the switch
As happy as I am that they’re moving away from the Wii, I’ll be sad if Miis don’t come back, unless they have some new avatar thing. I’ve made Miis of all my friends and people I’m close to; I’d hate to lose that ability.
In the games reel, there was half a second with some Miis and some clear rectangles? I don’t know what it was, but it had Miis.
I thought Miis were gone too because typical games like 1-2Switch that would usually have them were using actual people instead. Until I seen Mario Kart 8 Deluxe… They are seen in the background of the various selection screens. Even so, they are nowhere to be seen nor are able to be selected in the character selection.

Miis wont be dropped as they were present in the mario kart 8 deluxe gameplay on the Japanese stream on the online battle portion
I hope they let us used your network ID to pay for online services.
Miis were shown at one point on the Switch.
Am I the only one loving the UI?
since there is no miiverse in switch i think they will link facebook accounts to work as profiles
They probably will do that. Miitomo isn’t doing as well as they hoped it would and that was supposed to be Nintendo’s own social network linking to the others through our Nintendo accounts — but I bet just using Facebook is more cost effeciant and will probably be used by more people since pretty much everyone has fb already
I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re kept miis but also made fb the primary social media link
I know right? Don’t forget Network IDs.
Miis are still there if you see the videos on mario kart 8 deluxe there are miis there when you play local multiplayer
Hasn’t it been proven that WiFi does NOT interfere with the instruments on an airplane?
Yup, thats why they actually offer Wifi on commercial jetliners, but on smaller planes it is an issue. This is seriously odd though, im wondering if theyll offer an LTE plan, which im hoping they do. (Please no ATT though)
Wtf happened to my gravatar? 🤔
The home menu of Nintendo switch looks awesome. I’m starting to love the Nintendo switch.
I’m sure that, like the new parental controls or the new online play, the Mii will be handled in a smartphone app. They’ll probably use Miitomo for that purpose. That’s my impression: they want smartphones to integrate with their systems even more.
Cause yes: they plan an app for parental controls, and they also plan one for managing online sessions (lobbies, scheduled games, etc.).
Can’t wait to play on the plane to California this summer!!! :D
Well I don’t go on planes much often I don’t know why.
||This was confirmed last year by the revelation itself, humans are so slow…||

I prefer the UI of the 3DS. I want to choose where my games go, in what folders and in what arrangement. I don’t like this alphabetical style as seen on Xbox or whatever. It’s not ‘mature’ it’s just a step back.
You can pin your games wherever you wan on an xbox 😑 the lack of XBO owners here is astounding.
Guys jokes aside The Switch is Dead on Arrival and i’ll tell you why
1: All the issues that led to the Wii U’s Failure havent been fixed.
2: Lack Of 3rd party games that are found on PS4 and Xbox1 (no 3rd party support.)
3: Overpriced
4: Too Weak and Underpowered to Run 3rd party Games, whats worse is its even Now too underpowered to even run Nintendos own games (eg Zelda BOTW) with its Framerate issues
5: Once again Cheap Nintendo is selling outdated old last gen tech for even a higher price then current 8th gen consoles like PS4.
6:Still using uneccessary Gimmicks to sl thier product. (JoyCons and HD rumble)
7: Still not sure who thier target market is Casuals or Real Gamers
8.Poor Battery life
9.Poor Launch Games.
10. Still ignoring fans and releasing games they didnt ask for (No Metroid,No F-Zero)
All of the above issues are what made WiiU Fail and will likewise make Switch Fail.
I see Aeolus post on every thread about the Switch.
You’ve said it once, it’s now starting to be annoying.
When you buy a switch later in the year, you get something called Joy-Con Grip to stop the console Joy Con-controls so you can use them as a normal controller when playing games on television.
It was a bit unclear if this Joy-Con Griffin had no opportunity to download Joy-con controls but that does not seem to be the case. This Joy-Con grip that comes with when buying the console is more or less just a plastic case and has no USB connector. So if you want to download Joy Con-checks may be doing it any other way, or buy something called Joy-Con Charging Grip that looks the same but then has a USB jack. This Joy-Con Charging Grip will cost around 300 kronor.
Nintendo, however, has said that Joy-Con controls should have a battery life of 20 ti
Hell huh efficient by Nintendo.

Learn not be a problem.
The batteries will last for 20 hours and if they need to be recharged so just click them on the console.

Are you sure it loads the controls through the console? I just think that it can become a problem if you do not want to use the batteries in the console when using the “on the road” to download the controls where needed. But they might have a clever solution, they are loaded only when the console is docked or something. Or ne … then you can never recharge the controls if you do not take a dock on the trip? Aja, may well wait o see or if anyone here knows.

Though the battery life of your console is only 3 hours. So you need to download the console before the battery is out of control.

The batteries in Joycons are tiny compared with the battery in the console itself.
Will hardly be labeled even if you charge Joycons the console undocked.

3.5 hours to charge the small stuff !!!! It does not take so long to load my gear S3 clock.
If it is supposed to have its Switsh connected to the TV, you get altså not be stingy, because then you have to disconnect it from the “grip” every time you stop playing to be sure to avoid having to wait 3.5 hours if you accidentally forget…

The thing that I understood it, is not an expert, but all the Nintendo gadgets using another type of charge that takes longer but also enables them to hold power longer and do not become unusable as fast. See examples of people who found the old DS consoles for several years and is still in charge.

I think main problem is that you can not charge the tablet / console once you have it standing on a table (with kickstand) because the USB port is on the bottom. Really gaffe under me!

Look at this:

back.
Looks to be a pretty hefty torn there. Possible to plug in a USB-C and still have the standing?

Some småfult may seem at first glance, but at the same time so I guess joy-cons will be charged when they are stuck with Switch in the dock and are likely to keep them there most of the time. Tips that they have done so for economic reasons to keep costs down and for myself it does not matter if you can download from the grip: one or not.
God forbid it be a Long travel time because a 2.5 hour battery life pretty much makes the switch a No go on airplanes better off with your 3ds.
