Pokémon GO Generated Revenues Of $950 Million Last Year

Market researcher App Annie has revealed that the incredibly popular Pokémon GO generated revenues of $950 million in 2016 proving to be a nice little money earner for both the Pokémon Company and Nintendo. Pokemon Go was No. 1 in downloads on iOS and Google Play in 2016, and it was No. 3 in revenue, behind No. 1 Monster Strike and No. 2 Clash Royale.

“By attracting millions of non-gamers, it reached a level of success that eludes even some of the most successful traditional video games,” App Annie said in its newest report on 2016 revenues. “This was thanks to the game’s beloved intellectual property, simple mechanics, real-world augmented reality gameplay, and perhaps most of all, its social nature.”

    1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

      ||They will, there is no logical reason to why they won’t…||

    2. I just hope they don’t do what they did with Pokemon Black and White 2 where they were released well into the 3DS lifespan on a previous console. I mean, I wouldn’t have it any other way now (Black and White 2 are my favorite games in the series), but I think Nintendo would greatly benefit from a Pokemon game on the Switch.

  1. MAN! With only a portion of that, my whole family could get completely out of debt, and no longer have to worry ourselves sick about our future. I collect to heal my pain. It only works for a while. I figure, I may as well make myself happy while I can. All that money…….and just from a casual mobile game. It sickens me.

  2. This is Nintendo.

    They won’t recognise –
its a great way to gain interest in the Switch.
    convert to a next gen
    First true HD game
    in app advertising

What they’ll continue to do is –
overcharge for Super Mario diarrhea Runs
not release tech specs for Switch
Advertise the hell out of 1-2 fuck of Switch
Have Reggie spout shit about how “we want to give the consumers the choice about how we anal rape them”

    silly sods
