Japan: Take A Look At Nintendo Switch Pre-Order Lines

As we draw ever closer to the Nintendo Switch release date of March 3rd, Japan looks like it’s gearing up for what is hopefully going to be a successful launch. With the 3DS still doing considerably well in the territory and the Wii U not so much, it’s humbling to see Japanese fans getting in early to secure themselves a pre-order for the new console. Take a peek at some of the queues below:

Compare this to Xbox One’s pre-order lines and you can see a stark difference:

      1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

        ||I’m in the void, that’s why they will experience something worse than existence…||

  1. Ha, have had mine Preordered since the 13th. Got there really early and Preordered me a Switch, Zelda and Splatoon. With my 3ds and Wii U money I didn’t pay a dime.

    1. I’ve got everything preorded on Amazon (console, Zelda, Splatoon, Skyrim, Mario, carrying case). I’ve been saving survey gift cards, for several months, all for this moment. ^^ Only thing lacking is somewhere to preorder a pro controller… So excited!!

          1. Actually i did buy one digital game Fast Racing Neo. No no VC games, had too many new AAA games to play. I don’t buy digital if i can afford it. Might buy some gamecube virtual console games if they come to the Switch.

  2. Come on, MNN, are you really comparing it to the Xbox One lines when you know the Xbox has always sold awful in Japan because no one wants it? (Forgot the reason why). At least try to use a console that was more popular.

  3. Let’s see… I have the default color Switch and BotW preordered at GameStop, as well as a limited edition copy of Disgaea 5, off of their website.

  4. Although i’m sure that the XboxOne was probably empty all day, those pictures could have been taken at anytime. An un-populated photo of the Switch line could have been taken as well as I’m sure the Switch line was empty before they allowed people into it. Any photos of the Wii U line? I’m sure it was full too.

          1. Stop calling me buddy. I’m not your buddy ok lol. Need friends? I can’t help you.

Anyways, my beef is with Nintendo and not you but if you keep setting yourself up ill keep knocking you down, understand? What you should be doing though is praising Nintendo for giving you the bare minimum again this round. That is what fanboys do. Ok? Everything will be alright. You will enjoy the Switch no matter what I say about it. My perspective is from that of a gamer and not of a fanboy, it doesn’t concern you, you wouldn’t understand it anyways.

May the force be with you.

  5. Microsoft probably won’t bother with Japan if they even stay in the biz for long.
They even screwed over PG, so guessing their commitment is wavering.

  6. Of course Switch will sell. At first. But does it have legs? It needs good games and a lot of them to survive in today’s ever moving technological age.

  7. As I said before, and it’s beginning to happen, the Switch was created to combat the Vita in Japan and claim ps vita’s 3rd party developers, not western 3rd party developers. If you were to pay attention to Japan’s mobile market almost everything Nintendo did with the Switch makes sense, except how Nintendo is handling the Switch’s online service.

  8. King Kalas X3 (Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4 only because Nintendo are DUMBFUCKS!!)

I wonder how many of those people actually ended up with a Switch preordered.
