Yooka-Laylee Publisher Assures Fans That Nintendo Switch Version Is Still Coming

Those excited for Yooka-Laylee were worried when Playtonic cancelled the Wii U version of the game late last year. However, the game’s publisher has reassured fans that a Nintendo Switch version is still coming. Team17 reiterated to Cubed3 that a Switch version of Yooka-Laylee is still being worked on. While it doesn’t seem like it will make it in time for the game’s April 11th release date elsewhere, it is good to know it is still coming.

  1. Have this pre-purchased and I’ll be buying the Switch version for sure. These developers need all the support they can get and this game looks beautiful.

  2. Honestly, I’ll believe it when I see it. Too many developers lately have been abusing kickstarter. But I really want to believe these developers, because they do seem legit. And the the game looks amazing. But I dont think the Wii U version should have been canceled, simply because they already recieved the funds to create it. I could understand if it was thier own money invested into the project, but it wasn’t. It was the fans money, and alot of people got let down when they canceled it.

The Wii U has a high attach rate, and Playtonic could have easily sold a million copies on the Wii U.

  3. Ah well. Playstation and Microsoft have supported them in a huge way, Nintendo has acted like they couldn’t careless Rare are making a spiritual comeback. Nintendo don’t deserve them.
