GameStop Will Randomly Select Customers Tomorrow To Pre-Order One Of 1000 Nintendo Switch Consoles

GameStop is giving you another chance to secure a day-one purchase of Nintendo Switch. Throughout the day tomorrow, February 11, the retailer will be randomly selecting customers to pre-order one of 1,000 Nintendo Switch consoles – all of which will be available for pickup at launch on March 3. Read on below for GameStop’s statement in regard to this process:

“Tomorrow only, guests can stop by GameStop for a chance to pre-order one of 1000 Nintendo Switch consoles, which will be available at launch on 3/3. GameStop stores and guests will be selected at random throughout the day on Saturday. They just walk in and ask and don’t have to purchase anything. Also, it’s zero money down.”

  1. Pre ordered mine already, best part is it wasn’t at gamestop. I get a Switch, gamestop doesn’t earn anything from me, and people are becoming fed up with gamestop, seems like everything is going nicely. I dream of a gaming world without gamestop.

    1. Personally i love gamestop. Nice people, close by, great service. Good trade in deals (i got over 150$ for just my Wii U even tho the gamepad didn’t work.) I don’t know why people don’t like them.

      1. Well, I once traded in Sonic Colors (Wii), ZombiU, and Super Mario 3D Land, during a deal they had where you got 20% more value if it was towards Mario Kart 8 (which I was taking advantage of). Guess how much I got out of those 3.

        $1.87.

I don’t trade to them anymore. I will still buy products from them, but trade-ins? Never again.

          1. Yyyeah, I’ve figured that out. Luckily I have a friend who looks for games to add to her college’s budding gaming club- I’ve already sold them my copy of AC New Leaf for like $25 bucks.

      2. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

        ||Because they want your personal identity number just for trade-ins, they wanted or probably already have implemented that costumers should give their fingerprints when buying products, soon they’ll ask for a DNA sample, not to mention their absurd expensive prices…||

Really? So I can still trade in my refurbished Wii U even with my Gamepad’s charging port being a little busted? Sweet. It still charges as long as you’re careful when plugging it in. Now I just got to get the accounts I got on it off & then format that bitch. Oh & I got 116 bucks for all of my Wii U, PS4 games I didn’t need anymore since I got them digital on PS4, & Pokemon Y. Just got less than 130 bucks left on Switch & the Wii U being traded in should wipe the rest of that off.

        1. Yeah my Gamepad didn’t charge period and they gave me full trade in price. I got 250+ dollars for my Wii U games alone. Everything accounted for i was able to get the Switch, Zelda, and Splatoon 2 while only paying 2$. It was awesome!

They can probably get the thing refurbished & fixed for a small fee themselves so that might be why they are still taking it as long as the console itself is fully functional. Not to mention they’ll most likely manage to sell them for 200 bucks so they probably get their 150 back & a little extra, anyway.

And me if my GameStop takes my refurbished Wii U since it’s possible your store only took it because the people working there are actually awesome people while mine could be ran by a greedy, corporate douchebag; sadly can’t rule out this as a possibility but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. Anyway, if I get 150 for mine, that’s awesome because then in a sense I would have only spent 50 bucks on my Switch since, as I said above, I only got around 130-140 left on it since the rest of the payment came from in-store credit.

Honestly, I can’t fully write GameStop, as a whole, off as being this greedy douchebag company robbing people since it honestly seems to be a case-by-case basis. While others voice how they had nothing but grief at theirs, others claim the exact opposite. Just one of those instances where the store you use is only as good as the people that work there.

                    Also very true. lol

Honestly, the ones that didn’t pre-order were the smart ones. They didn’t let Nintendo using flashy lights & mirrors trick them into getting yet another console that might be having a very bad first year with not much for day 1 buyers to play for a year. And this is coming from one of those suckers that pre-ordered his Switch the day after the presentation. @.@ (I mean me. I’m one of you suckers that got it day 1. Fool me once (Wii U,) shame on Nintendo. Fool me twice (Switch?,) shame on me.)

But it’s all good since I got a PS4 in case Switch flops as bad, if not possibly worse, than Wii U! :D

  2. I’m still relying on my hope of finding a Switch in stores on launch. I signed up for a free membership at Gamestop the other day just for the sake of being notified when more Switch consoles would be available for preorder. I haven’t received ANY emails yet. And THIS should have been something that they let me know about. Even though I can’t go anyway (my stupid truck keeps stalling).

  3. GameStop has arcane policies and frankly poor value. I have long ago stopped dealing with them, i frankly get much better value/discounts/shipping/rewards etc from Amazon & BB. The only time i step foot is to grab a game that’s quite old and cheaper there. Just one of many things I’ve seen is them sell something as new, take the open case put the game back in and drop it in a plastic pouch close it and call that a “new sealed” copy. You definitely want catch me tooting their horn.
