UK: Amazon Selling Nintendo Switch Download Codes

Amazon UK has started offering customers the choice of either digital or physical when it comes to Nintendo Switch games. However, the downside of this is that the digital copies cost more than the physical copies, which is generally the case. The current games available digitally are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and 1-2 Switch.

  1. My reason for getting physical over digital for BOTW is because the Eshop is going to be overloaded with people downloading games, causing the download to take forver

      1. Lol. I guess in a way if cloud gaming becomes a big thing that will kinda be the case. Nvidia is doing their paid cloud gaming subscription now. Its pretty expensive tho.

  2. Why the hell would digital cost more? It’s the same game without all the physical packaging, and materials to print it. Ridiculous

  3. I prefer physical, especially since they’ll be cartridges. Also, low storage is a minor bummer (though I’ll just get an SD card). I’ll only get digital when it’s the only option for a game or there’s a big discount..

      1. I don’t have a Xbox, so I don’t know, but I have a play4, wiiu and 3ds, and 90% of my purchases are digital from another country. If a buy a retail copy in Brasil I will pay 60% more in taxes. And if I but a retail from another country I’ll pay 60% of taxes counting the game price more the shipping costs, so they charge importation taxes in the shipping cost as well, it’s ridiculous.

  4. Having digital games on the 3DS was so convenient. I’ll definitely buy digital games on the Switch. Having every game always with you ready to play on a portable device is pretty awesome, especially for games that are either multiplayer or a big time sink.
