Yesterday we heard a rumour stating that NES Mini production is coming to an end and only a handful of units will become available. The news stemmed from NeoGAF and has since been rebuffed by Nintendo UK who have said that production of the popular retro console will continue and that they will be shipping units on a regular basis.
“Production for the Nintendo Classic Mini: NES continues, and NOE [Nintendo of Europe] will continue to ship units to retail on a regular basis,” said a Nintendo UK representative.
||The rumour-sayer has been…taken care of…||
I hope it wasn’t too messy, Commander…
Being vaporized is pretty mess-free. Minus the giant crater left around them.
Sounds… Positively hygienic, Subcommander… *gulp*
Plenty in Norway who’s saying it is discontinued for Scandinavia.
||Like I’ve said earlier, but the rumour-sayer meant for all of this planet which obviously is not true…||
So another rumor was crap and everyone jumped on without evidence.
N dropped the ball on this one. I may have bought two or three. Instead, I have 0. Haven’t seen one in any store.
||Where are you from?…||
Uh… pretendo moron. Have you read the article that Nintendo have stated that the NES Classic Edition will CONTINUE? Research, you fucking dick!!!!
First off, you need to chill. Second, I believe he/she is referring to the fact that there is such a limited stock, and thus he/she has not been able to buy any of the NES mini. Which is a legitimate gripe. Since production will be continuing, they should eventually be able to get their hands on one, so it’s not the end of the world.
}{ Go home Xbot… You’re drunk… }{
Ok…….that’s what they said about the Wii U.
And how much money was that making?
because neogaf says it, it must be true
I just got mine in today and it’s TINY
I randomly found one in my local Walmart yesterday. I bought it as a gift for my mom who’s been wanting one since last year :)
||Is your mother an ancient Nintendite?…||
She just had an NES as a kid and wanted this.
||The First Order salutes your mother…||
I can’t find one, and I’m sure as hell not paying over $100 for something that saves me about 15 min or so of setup to hook up my original.
Still, now that we can fill the other 30 slots, I’d consider one at retail value. :)
I have an original NES in the family video game archives that my mother is kind enough to keep. I don’t really have a need for the NES Mini, but it includes games that I don’t have physical copies of. Plus Commander Quadraxis would exile me if I didn’t buy at least one. :P
I use brickseek to find NES at local retailers like Target and Walmart. I’m a video game collector. I’ve gotten 4. Kept 2 and gave 1 and sold 1 to friend. Target only sales them in the morning when store open.
Thanks for the tip.
}{ This product really isn’t worth the effort it takes to get it… I’m surprised it’s still selling out given the death of all hype surrounding it… }{
Bergsala should not be in charge for Nintendo in northern Europe…
Thank goodness.
I’ll be shocked if I ever see the NES Mini in stores. I’ve only seen it in one store before Christmas (EntertainMart), and it was over $200 (yes, even in a store). And they still sold them. CRAZY! I look every time I’m in Wal-Mart or Target. But haven’t seen anything but an NES Mini carrying case.
