Japan: Here’s This Week’s Charts

It’s Wednesday which means that it is time to find out which hardware and software performed the best in Japan last week. There were a number of notable new entries including Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 – Professional on the Nintendo 3DS and Nioh on the PlayStation 4, both of which performed well. The previous top-selling game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard slipped from number one to number four. With regards to hardware it was a close race between the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo 3DS, with the PlayStation 4 just beating Nintendo’s current handheld.

      1. They are very few, not for a coincidence they have stopped the Wii U production… even before the new console came out. It’s probably the biggest Nintendo’s flop after the Virtual Boy (that I bought, and had some fun with it though ^^).

        1. I have about as many games for Wii U, as I had for PS3.
And I must say Wii U I have more worthwhile games than on PS3.

          1. It can be, I don’t know well its library but it was still badly supported (at least one good game every month is necessary to not depress people in my opinion, exactly what they seem to do now with the Nintendo Switch hopefully) and that GamePad was a false step. You can’t just hope to sell at end life, people interest already gone, you have to build momentum and sell your software when people is actually interested. Wii U software is still of good quality, but I’m ignoring that platform and not the Switch that I’ll buy day 1 for example.

            1. Well, Nintendo no longer has to sell the console, anyone getting it now can get the good games it received, it does not really deter the experience, whether the game is 1 month or 3 years old.
I guess that depression only hits people with too much time on their hands?
Believe it or not, I have a backlog of Wii U games, that can not be counted with just one set of fingers.
Add the backlog of 3DS games, and I’m getting depressed because I have too many games to play.

              1. But you have many consoles as admitted. You have a PS4 and a Nintendo 3DS too.
People like me that want just one system pretend to have always new good games to play. This time Nintendo need to deliver if they want to avoid the Wii U flop.

                1. I do not have PS4, I do have a gaming PC that is still out performing the current consoles, scorpio might be the first to out perform my PC.
One system could not keep me entertained, but if Switch gets the best of Wii U and 3DS, that kind of system could take care of most gaming needs.

            1. That is a matter of an opinion.
I gave up on the console little before last of us got some fanboy panties wet.
As for my personal favorites that I can still remember, there was not too many of those, which made it rather easy to sell my the entire thing.

              1. For sure it’s a matter of opinion.

Just saying though, you said you had more Wii U games than PS3 and that Wii U games are more worthwhile than PS3.

Wii U has a little more than 700 games whereas PS3 has over 1,500 games. Doubt you’ve been through them all to say that Wii U has more worthwhile games than PS3.

Now if you enjoyed the Wii U games you played more than the PS3 games you played, that’s a different story and a personal feeling you have every right to. :p

                1. No, I said I had more worthwhile games, not more.
I had more physical games and downloaded games on PS3.
Out of those 1500, I had most of the major releases, was maybe 5 I remember getting my all time favorites, Arkham Asylum, Bayonetta and Demon Soul’s and Bioshock being some that I remember off the bat.
There were a lot of good games, but not too many to hold appeal to me.

I would have to make gaming a full time job to play all the games on either of those platforms.

  1. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4! Hopefully it will also await us at Nintendo Switch if Nintendo doesn't FUCK things up again!}

Oh phooey. Resident Evil 7 biohazard got knocked off it’s perch at the #1 spot. *shrug* Oh well since it’s still in the top 5! :D
