Miyamoto And Aonuma On Zelda Breath Of The Wild’s Storytelling – Aonuma Hints Towards A ‘Trick’ He Discovered 20 Years Ago

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma recently took part in an extensive interview with Game Informer and it results in some interesting information being given about Zelda Breath of The Wild’s storytelling. They both explain that learning the story in the game is different to previous in the Zelda series and that Aonuma uses a ‘trick’ which he discovered way back 20 years ago when developing the first Zelda games.

Unfortunately for us he keeps the details close to his chest and doesn’t reveal what this special method of storytelling entails. Time will tell…

The Game Informer interview with The Legend of Zelda’s creator Shigeru Miyamoto and series producer Eiji Aonuma can be found here.

  1. I think the cutscenes might always be the same no matter what order you complete tasks and the environment around them could change?

Or maybe the story is simply written in a way where each character tells a piece of the story of the past and the order you learn it doesn’t matter very much — kind of like the goddess origin story I’m OoT. And then companions join you to fight the final evil, and if you get ALL of the “companions” and all of the pieces of the story you are rewarded with a 100% ending, vs only getting the regular ending if you miss something.
