Here Are Three Minutes Of Footage Showcasing The Nintendo Switch UI

NeoGAF user hiphoptherobot has managed to get his hands on a retail version of the Nintendo Switch console, more than two weeks before its global release date of March 3. He has also put together a couple videos to showcase the system and what it comes with. He even powered on the console to give us an extended look at the user interface (UI). Check out the video below to see nearly three minutes of footage that goes through the initial setup process of a new Nintendo Switch owner:

  1. Never purchased a tablet, ’til I pre-ordered the switch. I may be on the minority here, but mine is going to stay docked.. As fun as it sounds to gather everyone up, drink beer, and play together with joy cons and shit – my reality is much different. We are all too busy for that shit, so we rely on online multiplayer to play together. If you want the best of gaming, get yourself a switch + a ps4. You can’t rely on just one console these days. I stopped being a fanboy after getting screwed with the wii u lol.

      1. Why? because he got a ps4 next to his WiiU? I bought a PS3 when the Wii wasn’t really capable of delivering a constant stream of stuff that would interest me and I think especially those who manage to break out of this fanboysphere and see how it’s done elsewhere are of course better gamers, lifeforms and should have a fixed reservation in a WW3-bunker.

        1. We need a logo, or call sign, … those of us that successfully broke out of the “Fanboysphere” as you call it. Otherwise known as, the matrix.

          1. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4! Hopefully it will also await us at Nintendo Switch if Nintendo doesn't FUCK things up again!}

            We could always take the song “Fuck the police” but change police to… Hm… Uhm… Let me get back to you on that! lol

                Let’s just use “Greatness Awaits!” It doesn’t have to be exclusively a Sony phrase, after all!

                That & it’d trigger some of the Nintendo fanboys here! lol

    1. Many ppl are going to do it just like you and it’s 100% fine. Because that’s what the Switch is made for, to fit into different user habits.
      But I gotta say, Online multiplayer is just a different category of game than couch-coop gameplay. And I myself am freelancer plus father of 2 but still wouldn’t wanna exchange direct multiplayer for online at all. Online has some huge advantages as well, especially when you’re playing within a team of 16 ppl or more against the same amount. But a fridge filled with beer and games like Mario 3D world, 4Swords or those Lara Croft Coop games on the Playstation are just their own thing.

    2. I will definitely be playing it undocked all around my house, something the Wii U simply could not accomplish consistently or at reasonable distances from the console or out of view of the console. For that I am very excited. What I don’t like is the need of two Switches for dual screen local multiplayer, like the Wii U has, but was only utilized for some games (Hyrule Warriors and COD) and for that, the Wii U will always remain a staple in my house.

      1. It was inconvenient. I ended up just getting a second power supply. One for the family room, one for the back of the house/bedroom. Sure I have to carry the brick with the gamepad , but it works for me! :D

        1. Yeah, that is something I’d want to do, but either way. I think someone who doesn’t think they will use the Switch’s portability might find themselves soon enjoying the ability to do so. Of course, everyone has their preference, but I am looking forward to playing in bed. The hype might have bit me hard… I think I need it at or near launch… shit

          1. I kept saying that about the gamepad, but people didn’t seem to like off-screen play as much as I did. We’ll see if portability fares any better.

          2. Also, I have a WiiU power cord by my bed, so you can be sure I’ll be dropping the gamepad on my face more than once while gaming. XD

      1. Damn. I was kinda hoping he was, but I laid a Peterrius trap a few days ago, and he didn’t take the bait, so I’m guessing it’s not him either. :/
