Miyamoto And Aonuma On Zelda Breath Of The Wild’s Balance Of Fan Feedback

Developing a Zelda title that lives up to fans’ understandably high expectations is without a doubt a huge task. Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma explain in a newly unveiled portion of an interview, conducted by Game Informer, that their approach to listening to feedback from fans has changed. Most notably in regards to development for Zelda Breath Of The Wild for Wii U and Nintendo Switch.

In the interview they talk about how monitoring play testers is still important but also listening to fans of the game is equally so. Mr Aonuma recalls reading that a player “really missed riding around on Epona in a huge world”; something they thought was missing while experiencing Skyward Sword. Eiji sympathised with the player along with their feedback and this thought process went towards influencing the development for Breath Of The Wild with the ability to explore a more open-air landscape.

Nintendo fans may be a vocal bunch but in this case it paid off.

  1. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4! Hopefully it will also await us at Nintendo Switch if Nintendo doesn't FUCK things up again!}

    While I’m glad horse riding is back, can we please get a freaking loftwing late in the game so we can enjoy flying over this beautiful ass landscape of Hyrule, a la using skells to fly over Mira in XCX!?

  2. The lack of an Hyrule Field really hurt Skyward Sword for me.It didn’t feel like a connected world like the other games,it really felt like Forest world,Fire world and Desert world like a Mario game and the Sky wasn’t Hyrule Field or the Great Sea,it was just the Starship from Mario Galaxy 2 or the map of SMB3
