According to the CEO of Clever Endeavour, Richard Atlas, Nintendo made it very clear to them that they wanted Ultimate Chicken Horse to be available on the Switch. He also mentions that Nintendo, in the past, were quite reserved with sharing information in regards to working with indies but are doing a better job of it now. In a recent interview with JustPause he said the following:
“The Switch has been an obvious choice for UCH (Ultimate Chicken Horse) since we started hearing rumors of it as the NX. Nintendo is traditionally quite closed about information and working with indies, but they’re doing a better job now and have pushed pretty hard for us to come out on Switch. Now that the information about the console is public, it’s easy to tell why the game is perfect for a party system like theirs.”
Nintendo’s new approach to indie developers is clearly paying off with a whole roster of them being announced extremely regularly.

He IS kind of cute like that…
Whoa, new avatar. I always hate new ones tbh because I have to get used to them over again.
Your Pikachu costume looks like it belongs to someone else a little smaller then you lol.
This game looks about as generic as it gets though. I think they may have exaggerated a tad when they said Nintendo pushed pretty hard. Probably just said, “Hey you guys should put your game on the Switch!”
I wouldn’t call this game generic. It is still one of my favorite games to play, especially since it’s basically competitive mario maker.
Ew! The name sounds so shovelware-ish! D:
