Zelda Breath Of The Wild Amiibo To Give Player Rare Weapons

According to the back of the packaging for the Archer Link and Rider Link amiibo, scanning in the respective figures will unlock rare weapons for Link to use on his adventures. If the images are legitimate then they indicate that Archer Link gives you rare bows and Rider Link gives treasure for riding horses such as saddles and large swords. Would this be enough incentive for you to part with your cash for Zelda Breath Of The Wild amiibo?

  1. Meh.. I may buy one or two of the amiibo, just because they look neat.
    But this is content I can live without. I’d rather find rare weapons myself by playing through the game.

      1. I actually hope we don’t. Is that weird? Mainly because if you can then it would make the amiibo’s functionality almost redundant other than to look pretty on your shelf.

        1. That’s a good way of looking at it.
          Unfortunately, I’ve never seen an Amiibo I actually want at retail price. (in the US) So it basically screws us out of the Amiibo DLC. :/ I guess I could look into importing them.

          1. Why don’t you buy them pre-owned? That’s what I generally do a couple months after release and then they’re dirt cheap. I’ve got about 30 of them stacked on my shelving units at my home. They’re a pain to clean around… :/

            1. May I ask, are you in the US or UK? I’m just curious as if you’re in the US, I could dig around, but seriously, we even have trouble with finding used ones unless they are ultra common. Could be I’m not looking hard enough!

  2. If they really sealed these weapons behind an Amiibo firewall, then it’s as bad or worse than any other 3rd party DLC.

    3rd party charges like, $99 for a game’s deluxe version that includes special weapons and perks, well, add the Amiibo up, plus the game… wa-la. Zelda Deluxe Edition. $100+ for the exclusive rare weapon bundle.

    If that’s not bad enough, we can’t just buy the DLC, we have to pay Scalpers 2-5x their worth to get them. So yeah. no more complaining about 3rd parties if this is true.

      1. Ahhh, my god sir, you have uncovered my brilliant plot! That is EXACTLY what I plan to do. However, I fear you missed my point. Nintendo has evolved DLC into a worse beast than it was before by limiting Amiibo production!

        If something you really wanted say the switch launched at about $600 and you complained and my response was well you could just not buy it I don’t think you’d be very happy! D;

        In addition, I felt it’s necessary to call out the hypocracy and complaining about third-party DLC when intended has now done the exact same thing. And on that note I say unto you, good DAY sir!

    1. Careful. Them words will get you flawged in this thread. You’re supposed to blindly go with the flow. Com’on Lion! Get with the program!

  4. How much you want to bet these are the same “useful items” you get by buying the DLC in addition to the Switch shirt? They’re also probably late in the game.

    1. if that’s the case I have no problem with people paying to get them early. it would just be nice to know that they’re actually in the game as well. If not, I guess I’ll just have to find some way to beat the game without wearing a switch t-shirt and amiibo DLC. ;D

      1. Considering the shirt is bundled in the whole expansion pass you know you’ll get it eventually for the juicy winter stuff ;)
