Video: Here’s A Night/Day Timelapse From The Wii U Version Of Breath Of The Wild

The Wii U version of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild hasn’t received as much attention as the Switch version, but that doesn’t mean the Wii U version doesn’t have its own highlights. TiLMENDOMiNATiON has uploaded a YouTube video of a night-to-day timelapse from the game. Early on, the camera is pointed above Link. However, the vast majority of the video focuses the camera on the direction Link is facing. It also gives a good look at the weather dynamics in the game, such as the movement of the clouds. We’ve included the video down below, so feel free to check it out.

      1. Thanks! Seems like it, I however wanted to see the differences of the day/night cycle between versions. WiiU is suppose to have some fog right? Couldn’t see it in this video so maybe they’ve optimised it enough.

        1. The decrease in fog effects was actually a graphical downgrade for both versions. That is because they are volumetric clouds. The Wii U version had, but now lacks volumetric lighting as well.

        1. Through in a few more high tech sentences and you’re sure to have yourself convinced! You can do it!

      2. Looks like they gimped the lighting effects that existed pre-downgrading it, but otherwise it looks pretty good on both systems. I don’t see any of the stuff that one reviewer was talking about.

I’m sure it will hit at random times, but so long as it’s not often, the game should be good enough. Very likely one of the last Nintendo games I’m buying. So I’m going to try to enjoy it.

  1. Oh, and I know the WiiU version is sub-popular, so thanks to the author for posting an article on the WiiU version. Even if only a handful of us can appreciate it! Lol
