Someone can correct me who knows better, but I am pretty sure there was android related talk early with the “NX” and it using an operating system or something that was in line with android to some degree. If so I read it here ao article probably can be found with a search.

Not wrong, rumor was it’s running something Android based. I see the switch UI and don’t see it being Android based.
Yea I remember those rumors, too. I wonder why it’s natively supported by Android though. Is there some open source controller driver that both the Switch and Android somehow use?

No, it is NOT running Android. I’ve seen rumors of it running on a modified FreeBSD (OS based on Linux), which the PS4 also does (as in, it uses a modified version of it too), but whatever the case is, it’s their own OS that’s rather closer to a computer’s.
I wonder if the Wii U’s OS was based off FreeBSD as well. I’m honestly very eager to see what hackers find out about the system.

If Nintendo were to make their accessories compatible with PCs from the start we would never find any of their accessories in stores for months, maybe years O_O

Oh dear. When the general public discovers this, Switch Joy-Cons will not always sell because someone wanted extra ones for their Switch but because they want to use them with their PC for gaming or their Android phone for gaming.
