Japan: Zelda Breath Of The Wild On Nintendo Switch Sold 193K Units At Retail

Sales data for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch is now in for Japan, thanks to Famitsu. Link’s long-awaited open world adventure sold 193,000 units at retail which isn’t quite as impressive when you note that 330,637 Switch units were sold. Whether a lot of Japanese consumers decided to purchase the game digitally remains to be seen as the Famitsu sales just take into account retail sales. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild had a 58% attach rate on Switch. Here’s how it compares to past Zelda games:

  1. Ok let’s go back one article says they sold 313,000 plus switches and now it’s 360,000 plus this site needs to check umber down and because it looks like their recycling miss information.

  2. I think there were a lot of downloads. No way that many just bought switch without Zelda.

      1. It’s certainly possible! I do think people underestimate digital sales these days tho!

        1. I wanna say yes and no, but I don’t wanna assume. I’m on yes cause I know having Zelda with you wherever on a memory card makes sense. But I also say no because I see the need to buy a memory card for some to be an OK buy and some saying no to buying more stuff. In the states, SD cards are cheap. Elsewhere, it might not be. So will see the numbers when they come out.

  3. well Japan *did* actually have major games launch besides Zelda, unlike the West. Hell, I’d have chosen DQ Heroes 1/2 over Zelda if given the choice myself
