Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap Launches April 18 For Nintendo Switch

DotEmu, developer and publisher specializing in modern releases of beloved retro games, and Lizardcube, are thrilled to announce that Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap will be available on April 18th for the PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch (and a few weeks after on PC).

Boasting beautiful, hand-drawn animations and a re-orchestrated soundtrack, the cult classic returns with a unique blend of exploration, action, and adventure. Play as Lizard-Man, Mouse-Man, Piranha-Man, Lion-Man, and Hawk-Man, and use their unique abilities to uncover the land’s deepest secrets. Switch in real-time between the original retro graphics and the visually stunning modern remake, and input your old Sega Master System passcode to unlock all of your old saves and progression – just how you left them in 1989.

  1. Cool, used to love both Wonder Boy and Adventure Island games back in the 80’s and 90’s.

A piece of the history of video games for those who don’t know it yet — hope you enjoy.

  2. I let out a sigh of relief at the end when I saw it was not a switch exclusive looks like I’ll get to play it after all!

  3. Ok then that will be my next game on… Pc. Shame it is not on wii u lol. Anyway have been waiting for that game more than Zelda. I am really excited about it. The nexthe game will be psychofox then I will be a very happy gamer :-)

  4. Quality indie, well-crafted. Though looks boring, probably skipping this (Shovel Knight looks better). Anyway happy there is quality indie too inside the Nintendo Switch.
