“Big” Third-Party Developers Are “Looking” To Bring Their Games To Nintendo Switch

A number of “big” third-party developers have expressed interest in Nintendo Switch. According to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, they see “a lot of promise” in the new console and are “looking” to bring their games to it. Fils-Aime didn’t specify whether the system will get more new games from them as opposed to Nintendo Switch versions of existing titles, such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from Bethesda.

“Let’s start with third-party developers, and further define that as the big third-party developers and publishers,” Fils-Aime said. “We’re thrilled that companies like Bethesda are bringing content to Nintendo Switch, sometimes for the first time on a Nintendo platform.

“I’m excited about sports content that’s coming — FIFA, NBA2K from Take Two. What that tell us is that we have a platform that the big third-party developers see a lot of promise in and looking to bring their best content on platform.”

  1. We haven’t known any of this games yet because they’re part of the E3 lineup of each company, just be patient, lots of games will be coming to our Switch!

      1. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4! Hopefully it will also await us at Nintendo Switch if Nintendo doesn't FUCK things up again!}

        There were some things that made the Wii U look 3rd party friendly it’s first year, too, but here we are. It’s too early to tell anything is for certain.

  2. When it comes to Reggie, you should take what he says with a massive grain of salt. There’s a lot of things he promised with the Wii U that never turned out true and it was hilarious. I get that it’s his job to say this kind of stuff and his real opinion probably differs, but sometimes when he’s in these interviews, he just sounds like the biggest blind Nintendo fanboy ever. Lmao.

    1. AGREED!! You took the words right outta my mouth. Lol…..
      Reggie’s vocabulary is like a complete opposite of everyday english. Lol again.
      ***Many 3rd party games are coming- our understanding = AAA Titles Batman Arkham Knight (or the next installment), C.O.D., Battlefield, Assassin’s Creed, Saints Row, GTA 6, DOOM 4, etc…

      ***Reggies actual translation on “many great games are coming” = we expect anything lego, that dead ass Skylanders franchise, that eagerly anticipated long awaited sequel to “chicken shot” in HD!!, & yet another “Just Dance” game.

  3. The thing has to keep selling.
    I just get the feeling that the only ones who will buy it are hard core Nintendo fans.
    But if they do a price cut later making it more of an impulse buy, then i can see it continuing to sell well enough to interest third party devs more.

  4. exacly your feeling is right only nintendo fans are buying the switch and soon the nintendo fans will have eventually the switch and the sells are gonna drop same like wii u because of how weak it is compared to ps4 pro and how expensive is.
    This E3 is gonna be the start for the death on the switch unless if they bring 3d partys support like normaly all gaming consoles have

      1. not to mention according to switch lauch hype at retailers the switch is a hit, best launch nintendo has had…. so if those are “nintendo only fanboys” youd think the wiiu would have had the same launch success

        1. WiiU marketing was shit.
          People were fed up with the Wii, and had no desire for another Wii.
          Nintendo didn’t launch with ZeldaU, it was the last thing they published on WiiU, and the first thing on the switch.
          So yeah, of course switch has an inflated launch.

  5. Yea if only there were companies willing to make unique games for the switch. I wish Nintendo would outsource their IPS to different companies. I feel like 3rd parties just know that their games can’t compete with the 1st party IPS that Nintendo have on top of the already underpowered console. I mean look at Ubisoft they made Rayman and zombiiu for wiiu but they just didn’t cut it and they ended up on other consoles. It’s unfortunate because I rather buy games that are portable since I don’t have much time to game at home anymore despite owning every current gen console

    1. Zombiiu and Rayman arent’ top triple A titles so you can barely count those kind of games as third party. Third party means GTA, The Witcher, Fallout, Call of duty, Battlefield, Final Fantasy and so on. If those won’t sell than we got a discussion. I know call of duty didn’t sell well in in the past but that game was far inferior on the wii.

      1. What do you mean “barely count those…as third party”? If it’s made by a third party, it’s third party. They’re not AAA games, but that has nothing to fo with their party status.

        1. I knew someone would say this but you get the point , the big public doesn’t care about rayman or zombii u. Zombiu was a bad game rayman got high ratings but its another simple 2d game. People keep claiming that third party won’t sell on a nintendo console but they never mention games like GTA 5 or Call of duty. Besides if I can choose between Cod for the switch or a ps4/xbox I would buy it for one of those two any day of the week, and i’m sure many other people think the same. Stronge community, better graphics, better controls and probally some other reasons (my opinion).

          Looking at the comparison video they posted here a few days ago that showed dragon quest on ps4 and switch says it all if you ask me leaving me 5 solid nintendo IP’s if i’m lucky.

          1. See my comment just below. That’s something I mention. I think if 3rd parties want to be successful on the Switch they need to release games that are unique to the system and can only be played on the system; simply because if people are faced with multiplatform games, they’ll most likely go with the most superior version, and that won’t be the Switch version.

            1. You might be right about that but than you probally get the same as bayonnetta 2 that only sold 800.000 times. Most core gamers want to play all the major AAA titles and Nintendo can no longer offer that. And lets be real most people that bought the WII and possibly the WII U after that are casuals. Atleast where i’m living they are. If I take 10 of my closest friends and family they all grew up on Nintendo and used to love them to dead. And none of them still plays Nintendo consoles and if they do they all sell it within 6 months after they played the games they wanted to play. I consider all 10 of them core gamers cause they have been playing for 30+ years and played most of the major titles released in gaming history.

              1. I don’t think the situation will be the same. The problem with the Wii U was that it had such a small install base, and judging from the sales of the core games that appeared on the system, I can’t imagine that any more than 5 million users were really serious about the console. Most of the purchases were probably for family use.

                I see something different happening with the Switch. I’ve seen a lot of interest from gamers who have either moved on from Nintendo or simply have never been interested in Nintendo. I think the Switch will have a much stronger core audience than the U was capable of.

                I’ve told a few people on here already that, as of now, I expect the Switch to sell about 60 million total units. I know that number seems like an overestimation, but looking at everything that’s going on right now and the nature of the console itself, I think it’s very possible. My estimate will probably stay at 60 mil until E3. At that point I imagine I’ll either keep it at 60 mil or lower it; but I doubt anything can happen this year to make me raise my expectations.

    2. I think that’s really what third parties need to do. I would be happy if third party devs brought their big games to the Switch, and I’d probably buy them for Switch over other consoles; but I’m most likely in the minority. If people can get a more impressive version elsewhere, I suspect they will. If third parties want to have success on the Switch, I think they need to produce good, unique games that you can’t get anywhere else.

      The Wii has some good examples of this. Call of Duty sold a decent amount of copies on Wii, but not nearly what it sold on other consoles. Meanwhile, Global Star Software released Carnival Games on Wii, which was a shitty little game, but sold over 6 million total copies. It played off the Wii’s strengths rather than it’s own strengths.

  6. yell well nintendo dont need more unique games because they already got now they should get 3d party games to make the other people buy it also i mean why some1 spend hes money for wii u and not buying a ps4 to play there all games like overwatch -witcher 3 – dark souls-final fantasy-doom-bla bla so many games that didn’t come t Wii u and they wont come to switch beacuse it is weak unless if they make my dream come true and make a dock with 250$ that give extra power to switch close enough as ps4 pro

    1. All the games you listed, with the exception of Final Fantasy also came to PC. Even that hasn’t been ruled out yet. The dev has expressed interest in creating a PC port. So if I wanted to play those games, why would I get a PS4 when I can get a more powerful, multi-functional, upgradable PC.

      1. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4! Hopefully it will also await us at Nintendo Switch if Nintendo doesn't FUCK things up again!}

        Because the PS4 is cheaper than a gaming PC while you need to either pay more than a PS4 for a gaming PC or you have to buy tons of parts for your non-gaming PC to turn it INTO a gaming PC. Not to mention there are millions of people that aren’t good with putting computers together even with help from online on how to put it together and/or don’t want to put up with the hassle.

        1. I think the fact that a PC is an all-in-one computing device, as opposed to a simple gaming machine easily offsets any additional cost. In addition, you’re not required to build a gaming PC yourself. You can order one.

      1. I don’t know if I will pay premium price for a old port.
        My retailer is already selling PS4/xbone version 30% cheaper than what they ask for Switch version.
        Though I already have the original on PC, it’s a very good game and I’d recommend it.
        Only thing that might get me to buy it for Switch, is if all the DLC is included, since I never bought any of those on PC.

  7. Lol. I would like to thank Nintendo for BOTW though, it’s a great game.

    Concerning the Switch itself though, ill just say this. It is very cheaply made. Nintendo cut every corner available to be cut and then they still over charged for it, by at least $100. The joycons being flat makes it uncomfortable to hold in portable mode. The desync issue is bad, it is. I wont go into it but ill say this. I bought a new Hdmi cable(a long one) and I already had a extension cord and moved it to right in front of me (like 5 ft away) set it on the floor (no obstructions at all) and it didn’t help whatsoever. It’s hard to say negative things about Nintendo right now because Zelda is so good but they did not spend the time needed to polish this console, or the more probable, they need to let some older gentlemen “go” and let some younger folks into management. The “out of sync” issue isnt only with their hardware…

  9. I’ll believe it when I see it, bitchass nintendo. Skyrim is too old to count. I wonder if the switch can even handle the big A games.

  10. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4! Hopefully it will also await us at Nintendo Switch if Nintendo doesn't FUCK things up again!}

    For a lot of us, this is just the same crap as what the Wii U went through it’s first year all over again. It’s too early to tell right now but if there are a number of big triple A games announced at E3 that are 100% set in stone to be coming to Switch because they already got a release date set for them, then we’ll believe it’s better than Wii U. But what will really set the Switch apart from Wii U is if the 2nd year goes off without a hitch.

    1. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4! Hopefully it will also await us at Nintendo Switch if Nintendo doesn't FUCK things up again!}

      After all, it was the second year that Switch was out that everything started going downhill. But back then, fanboys, and a few hopeful fans like me, were making every excuse in the book to say the Wii U will be fine during that second year. “Wait til Mario Kart 8 comes!” “Wait til Smash comes!” “Wait, wait, wait! Blah, blah, blah!”
