Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is home to an NPC called Brigo whom, if you stand Link on the edge of a bridge, will begin to attempt to talk you down from jumping off. Twitter user TristanACooper documented the exchange between link and Brigo and uploaded screenshots showing the NPC giving kind words of advice to Link.
You can see Brigo’s message for yourself below:

Nintendo has always taken care of me. I don’t know what would have happened to me (many times in life) if it weren’t for having my Nintendo games to occupy myself with. They’ve helped me through many tough times. Nintendo has been like my only friend for more than 20 years.
||Nothing will ever come close the level of purity Nintendo has given us all, Nintendo is not just the essence of gaming, it’s the essence of pure satisfaction for us ancient ones that were with Nintendo since the beginning even if some of High Command’s directives have been questionable in recent times…||
||Still, it’s insignificant to the level of greatness they have provided since the beginning…||
u need to get a job or something
Has any other video game done this before? I’m surprised, this is the first time seeing something like this in a video game!
I’m currently looking into it :)
I was surprised when I found it. It’s a nice little touch but ultimately pointless because even without using the paraglide I think you can easily survive the bridge in question.
I think it’s more the sentiment of it. Regardless of the actual set-up, the advice given is touching.
The advice it’s not for Link, but for the player that had that kind of difficulties in life
Does he forfeit to Link at a children’s card game?
That’s really neat.
This is so sweet.
By the way, I just crossed with this guy some days ago in Hyrule, but I did not stand on the edge of that bridge.
That’s awesome. They really worked on having reactive npc’s in this game.
Hahah I’m like “bro I am just taking in the scenery….calm your tits”
I did that to a Rito and he just passed me by. So heartless.
Or he thought you could fly.
Ritos are just birdbrains anyway, they think anything can fly
then proceed to jump off after he’s finished talking

I actually experienced this just on my own. Came across him, then just went to the ledge to get a nice view and thought it was just an amazing detail.
It’s pretty nice how the NPCs dialogues often vary depending on outer circumstances like even the weather.
Wait, I just now noticed that this post says “advice on self-harm”. But if Brigo tries talking Link out of jumping (committing suicide), that’s different than self-harm. When I think of self-harm, I think of cutters. People who purposely cut themselves. Oh well, just thought I’d throw my two cents in here.
Yea but i think jumping off a hundred foot bridge would also fall into the self harm catagory.
I saw this my first few days playing the game. I got close to the edge and the npc talked me out of jumping off, even though I wasn’t even thinking about it. I didn’t give it much thought as it happened. It was kind of funny and would have thought of it again if it wasn’t for this thread.
I honestly don’t think it’s advice for the player. I just think it’s a funny thing they added to the game. He was talking about the end of the world and how everything is about to end in obvlivion just before talking you out of suicide. lol
This site needs a way to edit your comments sooooo bad.
this sight needs a lot of things. like writers for example.
I found this just the other day. I even jumped off the bridge at one point to see if he’d react to me taking the plunge but nothing. I also found it slightly funny since the bridge wasn’t high enough to harm anyone even in real life. That & the river is pretty deep underneath the bridge.
