If you’re itching to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch and don’t want to pay over the odds then you will be glad to know that GameStop has announced it will have stock next week. Wednesday is the day when you can pop in store and grab a unit. You won’t have to buy it in an expensive bundle either, so that’s a bonus.
“GameStop continues to see strong demand from customers who are looking to purchase the Nintendo Switch system. We are meeting this demand by securing additional systems as fast as we can to ensure customers are able to purchase this innovative gaming technology,” said Eric Bright, senior director of Merchandising for GameStop, in a statement. “The customer enthusiasm and response we have seen so far has been incredible as we continue to sell through our supply of systems. We strongly suggest any customer who is still looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch, visit one of our stores as soon as they can. This new allotment will go fast!”
Fuck you GameStop. You said there wouldn’t be any more stand alone units until May and suckered me into buying a damn bundle that won’t be out until next month.

To put it in perspective a little though, now you’re guaranteed a system, and it will ship by middle of April, maybe sooner (been seeing a lot of people saying they’ve either gotten it already or at least got shipping confirmation). With this incoming restock you still have to wait in line and, depending on your location, might not get one due to amount the stores have. It’ll still be first come, first serve. :(
Not to mention it just depends on how many they can make and get sent out to all retailers. I’m actually surprised GS is getting any more that they’re sending to stores so soon.
Nintendo manufacture 10 milli Switch’s in September 2016 with 8 million of those for retail. And now it’s rumored that there’s 8 million more being produced.
You are right to ask for a refund, but be fair. There’s no reason to conclude that Gamestop knew they would get another allotment, or enough of one to restock their individual stores to any notable degree. There’s no reason to assume they were lying.
I mean, there are like a thousand other reasons to say “Fuck you Gamestop”. There’s just no evidence here that they intentionally misrepresented anything.

Careful about saying Wednesday specifically though. Not all stores will get their stock by then. Or they might get it sooner depending on location–who knows…
They did said that and they will have more never week. This is a good news here.
Just talked to Gamestop (where years ago I once worked). It looks to be a VERY small number of systems per store, being sold on first come first serve Wednesday morning. Given the circumstances, I expect the employees themselves to buy up a couple. If you want one, I’d get up very early that day.
Have they fixed the problem with the dock scratching the console? I am waiting for that to be resolved.

That doesn’t mean they still shouldn’t address it. This isn’t some optional thing they can just ignore since the dock is an integral part of the system.
