Japan: Seiken Densetsu 3 Seemingly Coming To Nintendo Switch

The Mana series Twitter account has published a video showing Seiken Densetsu 3 running on the Nintendo Switch. The Super Famicom title hasn’t been released outside of Japan where it originally launched on September 30th, 1995. Square Enix has yet to confirm whether the game is coming to Nintendo Switch but judging from the video footage it seems very likely it will be part of the Virtual Console service, at least in Japan.

  1. Those and the Final Fantasy style turned based RPG’s where the days. Shame that the ruined the genre with more action like games over strategy. Altough Secret of mana was more action aswell ofcourse. Perhaps better suited for 2d.

I also gues that they had to go with more action cause the market for these games wasn’t big enough wich is a huge shame. Nino Kuni shows that it can still be done the right way though, it was a big succes I believe.

    1. I played Secret of Mana on my SNES I think. Great game.
I assume part 2 is a virtual console game. I’m not sad to be missing it, but it will be cool for anyone with a switch that appreciates 16 bit games.

    1. Zelda only allot quicker and your hit do actually dps depending on your lvl and weapon strength so when you hit you see 25 for example. You get different style of weapons that change how you fight you could upgrade those and level your character. You had a team of 3 people 2 are controlled by the computer but you could change characters or if you died you would auto change to one of the other 2. After the fight everyone gets ressed to 1 health.

  2. Don’t fuck with me here. Also could we finally get a US release if so? I know Live A Live came out for 3DS though there was never an english translation but here’s hoping! Especially since Seiken Densetsu 3 has a translation planned for it anyways.

  3. This might be a future Virtual console game for the Switch. Good thing is that if this a “Import Only” game, you would be still able to buy and download in the US.

Also, not getting my hopes up, but this could be one of the Online Virtual Console games.

  4. Not a fan of the serie but looking forward for it. I had more fun with Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger those years. There was even Secret of Evermore but I don’t remember it well.
