GameStop seems incredibly positive about Nintendo newest console, calling the Switch’s sale “phenomenal“. They seem to have hope for the system’s future too, GameStop’s senior director of merchandising predicting huge sales for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Mario Kart games traditionally sell extremely well, Eric Bright obviously recognising this and assuming the best. Hopefully Eric Bright is Eric Right.
“Mario Kart without a doubt will be huge. We know the interest from previous sales of Mario Kart, and we know that Mario Kart on the Switch is going to extend that.”
most likely will reach Wii U version in sales.
Good.
still no mension of upgrade program. so I’m not buying it.
will buy it only after the discount is available on My Nintendo
On numerous occasions I came dangerously close to picking up Mario Kart 8 for Wii U, glad I never pulled the trigger on that.
Well I DID, and bought the DLC.
Now my money has been wasted, because Nintendo didn’t tell us anyting sooner. Seriously, Wii U owners deserves some kind of compensation. We got one when Hyrule Warriors Legends was a thing.
We did? I don’t remember getting Toon Link, King Daphnes, Tetra, Linkle, or Skull Kid for free, I had to buy those whilst 3DS players got them plus all the original stuff for half the admission fee.
I will buy my Switch on the first half of April and I’ll certainly pick Mario Kart 8, I’ve already bought Super Bomberman R and Breath of the Wild as I thought I would be able to buy my Switch this March but the thing is expensive as hell here in Brazil, scalpers are asking for at least 700ish dollars for the switch alone and me 70 on BotW.
*and 70 more on BotW
Is nobody going to acknowledge that pun?
i hope nintendo doesn’t see this as us supporting ports instead of new games expecially of games meant to be an exclusive to every gen console.
Im just going to sell my copy of MK8 for wii U for my own discount
YUUUUUGE!
HUUUUUGE*
“Hopefully Eric Bright is Eric Right.”
Thank you for that Josh.
And I predict that I’m going to be complaining about having to pay $60 for a game I already have. And I probably won’t even play it because of already playing the Wii U version until I got sick of it. So I’ll PROBABLY wait until I can get it cheaper. Though I’ll be very lucky to see a first party game EVER go down in price. I might have to buy it used.
What do you call Nintendo Selects like Tomodachi Life, DKC Tropical Freeze, and Mario 3D World? Those all got massive cuts.
I don’t like the Nintendo Selects releases because they screw up the cover art. I like original releases where the cover art isn’t changed. Maybe some day I’ll think it’s silly for me to feel that way. But that day isn’t here.
Alright, understandable. If you aren’t against getting used copies, those original box art copies drop just as much as Selects do- I was able to grab a used, original art copy of Mario 3D World for less than $20 when that went Selects.

I wouldn’t be surprised. Mario Kart 8 is good fun. And a lot of people aren’t aware it was on the Wii U, so it will basically be new to a lot of Switch owners.
When I can get the game for 20 bucks on my Switch, call me.
