Psyonix Evaluating Whether To Bring Rocket League To Nintendo Switch

Psyonix, the developers behind the incredibly successful Rocket League, are currently evaluating whether to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch. The team says that they’re looking at the technical requirements and seeing what kind of demand there is for the game.

“Just like all the other platforms, we are evaluating it. We’re looking to see what the technical requirements are,” Dunham said. “We’re looking to see what kind of true community demand there is. We’re looking to see how it would benefit the community as a whole. So we’re still in that evaluation phase. It’s definitely too early to say that it wouldn’t happen, but it’s also definitely too early to say that it would.”

“I think we’ve shown over time we’re a community based company, and so what we’re doing first is seeing what kind of impact that would have and who needs it and who wants the game and we’ll go from there,” Dunham said. “Luckily the platform’s only been out for a month, so we have plenty of time to look to see how it’s doing and what our audience wants.”

  1. I’d definitely give it a chance on Switch. The convenience of the platform allows you to try out games you may not have on other systems simply because you’re not stuck in front of your TV screen when playing Switch.

  2. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

    ||The longer you evaluate, the less interest in it will exist through the passing time…||

  3. In other words…..

” We want to see how big the install base will be and how much more money the system will make before we invest in the Switch and Switch owners. We want to be ensured that there’s enough people buying our game because Nintendo games are hard to compete with especially games like Mario Kart 8.

  4. Doesn’t this game have a big online component ? I would love to buy it but I don’t really have anyone else to play with honestly lol looks like a co-op heavy game. Is there single player ? I’ve only seen teams of two play

  5. I’m not that much interested in it but definitely it would rock on the Nintendo Switch.
If they give online play with 2 players splitscreen (by using just a Joy-Con) it can have a chance in my house too.

  6. I got the game on PS4 and on PC…and probably would get it on the switch once I get it (when the wallet allows it and when its going to be available in stores more than 5 minutes)
