Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has issued another statement regarding LEGO City Undercover‘s packaging for Nintendo Switch. According to the publisher, the physical version of the upcoming release will offer the “full experience” to players right out of the box. The only time you’ll be recommended to download anything for the game is when patches are dispatched.
“The information is listed incorrectly on the packaging of LEGO City Undercover for Nintendo Switch,” explains a Warner Bros. representative. “Players who purchase a physical copy of LEGO City Undercover on Nintendo Switch at retail are getting the complete game, and do not need to download additional content to enjoy the full experience. An internet connection is not required to play the game. The only internet connection suggested is to download the typical content update patch.”
Great ! Quick response from WB . I saw many people on other websites commenting about how they cancelled their preorders. Good thing I waited for an official word lol
I appreciate the fast response from Warner Brother too, in addition ion I can’t await this full experience. I feel like a ticking time bomb, I’m so eager.
I figured as much but it’s nice to get clarification anyway
So why was that information listed on the packaging to begin with? Did they just use the same packaging for all retail version?
just an honest mistake
This was a launch Wii U game. I hope they solved the download issues. Amazing game, my first and only lego game though. I can see how it can get old fast so I don’t want to ruin the experience I had.
That’s really good news. I thought WB was getting lazy or deceptive.
Uhhhh… and I guess from this article we can conclude the digital version will not? Sorry, just some odd wording on your part.
No, it doesn’t imply that. They should have linked to the original article they posted for clarification, though. It’s a follow-up/update to this article: https://mynintendonews.com/2017/03/27/lego-city-undercovers-packaging-suggests-up-to-13gb-of-space-required-for-switch/
I would hope so!
I don’t know if that confirmed anything substantial.
It could still require mandatory install off the cart and some online drm BS

Well that’s good news. If this was an actual thing & Nintendo ended up doing something similar with their games, I don’t think some people would take kindly to it since some give PS4 & Xbox One shit for doing stuff like that.
