It looks like People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) found another opportunity to criticize Nintendo’s products. The animal rights organization doesn’t approve of the Milk minigame found in 1-2-Switch. Its president, Ingrid Newkirk, has compiled a rather lengthy letter to express how she strongly believes that the cow-milking minigame “promotes drinking milk from cows.” She even offered to provide some actual footage of the “filthy conditions that cows endure on farms” for Nintendo to include in the Nintendo Switch party game. Show me some articles where PETA helped and didn’t whine about “muh animals” and actually did something about it. Animals have no rights and shouldn’t have rights. They’re animals, not humans. We can drive, they cannot. We have jobs, most of the animals in the world can’t get “employed.” We’re making the world better with technological breakthroughs, and what are animals doing? At least they’re helping us with our daily protein intake.
That’s a pretty sad way to look at animals. They deserve better treatment than what they get from factory farms or humanity in general.

The way we treat animals, the planet and each other should change, but it doesn’t have to. Humans are perfectly content creating circumstances that will render us extinct.
Although I’m sure there is some common ground between us, I don’t support PETA, or the notion that there should not be carnivores living on earth. Eating other animals is part of life, it’s the gross disrespect for them that drives us to the brink.
If we could sustainably eat meat like every other animal on earth, and not inflict mass suffering on other, intelligent creatures, I think it would be fine. Asians often eat a ton of fish. That’s fine, they eat the meat source closest to them.

I love the Switch and I’m a Nintendo fan since their early days. I will continue to support Nintendo. Probably for the rest of my life. This criticism from Peta I support as well. Even though PETA is a bit on the stupidity spectrum for attention some of there claims are laughable i tend to ignore them although they did do a really good mario game of a tanooki chasing mario the music was catchy.
I love nature and animals. I would help animals before I would help most humans. The way we treat them is a fucking joke, but what can you expect from a species bent on the extinction of itself, it’s planet and every other species it can use and abuse.
That said, I’m also a carnivore. And like my wolf brothers, I would not be personally offended if an animal tried to eat me because it was hungry.
As an animal-friendly carnivore, I buy my meat, eggs and cheese from local farms. I see how the animals are treated, they live good lives before many are humanely killed for food. This is something I can live with. I get angry and upset when I see industrial animal processing plants, and it makes me want to see humans erraticated, but it doesn’t make me a vegetarian.
It’s fine to eat meat, eggs, dairy, so long as we are not needlessly torturing animals. PETA does 1 good thing for every 5 fucking stupid things, so I don’t support them. I just my part. I try to educate, donate to local shelters, Wolf sanctuaries, and buy local meat.
This is 1. Just a stupid game. 2. A waste of time and resources for PETA to be commenting. There are terrible things happening to animals, and they waste time on Milk??? Stupid, useless fucks. They will never see a dime of my money.

I love that you mentioned your playstyle in BotW. I’ve been doing the same thing–almost completely vegetarian playthrough so far. I did run over a fox with my horse though, but it wasnt intentional.
I try to kill every food source in sight. I’ve tried not to hurt foxes because I love foxes, but then I remember it’s just a digital fox and I’m not hurting a real one. So I’ve pretty much gone back to killing them. Still, I’m so glad it only takes one hit to kill them, though, regardless of the weapon I used. Not to mention I try to go for a headshot so they die in one hit.

I’m anything but a hard conservative, but I still have this almost involuntary automatic reaction to PETA where anything they tell me not to do I only want to do more. My eyes also hurt from the completely involuntary “circular calisthenics” that they’re always induced into whenever I encounter their work. I’ll make sure I play 1-2 Switch today, and milk some cows…..maybe I’ll have a carton with me while I’m at it.

They underlying point they are trying to make (conditions for factory farming, treatment of animals, etc) are completely true and valid. But the form of their messaging often leaves something to be desired.

Fuck PETA. I don’t take people that kill more animals than the save seriously. Just a massive joke. Here’s a thought! How about you dumb motherfuckers actually try to save real animals? Because you aren’t doing them any favors trying to save virtual/digital ones!
In fact, PETA should be liquidated & bought by an animal rights activist that actually does try to save animals but also doesn’t try to push this entire “eating meat is wrong & evil” agenda.
What will they go after if humans did stop eating meat? Are they gonna start trying to stop wolves, lions, bears, & other carnivores from eating meat, too!? If they think what these industrial places do to animals is horrible, I’d hate to see how they’d react to this. (It’s hard to watch but such is the way of nature.
