Mega Man Cartoon Plot Detailed

One thing that has recently divided gamers is the upcoming Mega Man cartoon which is set to debut on the Cartoon Network next year. The design of Mega Man himself has been a sore point for many. Regardless of this we now know the basic details of the plot which should be entertaining. Interestingly, it seems the target age group for this specific cartoon is 6-11.

Aimed at kids 6 to 11, as well as their parents who grew up loving the video games, the new Mega Man animated series will feature exciting new technologies and robots, as well as the introduction of Mega Man’s alter-ego, Aki Light. Aki is a normal, upbeat, schoolboy robot who has nano-core technology that allows him to transform into the mega powered super hero Mega Man! With his Mega Buster arm cannon and iconic helmet, Mega Man battles the wickedest villains Silicon City has to offer. Beloved characters, such as Mega Man’s robotic dog, Rush, will return – while new characters, like Mega Mini™ and Suna Light, will make their debut!

The Mega Man franchise is grounded in a series of video games, first launched in 1987 by Capcom, featuring battles fought by the eponymous blue robot protagonist and an ongoing cast of allies and enemies. The Mega Man multiverse has spawned over 130 video games on multiple gaming systems, selling over 31 million copies worldwide, as well as a plethora of toys, comics and collectibles. A highly rated Mega Man TV series was popular in the USA in the mid-1990s and aired on ABC Family. The new animated Mega Man series focuses on a normal, upbeat schoolboy robot, who discovers that deep within his programming lies secret protocols that can transform him into the powerful Mega Man. And, as the world’s first robotic super-hero, Mega Man must face the threats of Silicon City, while trying to preserve his secret identity and maintain a regular robot boy life.

  1. Blah.
As a lifelong Mega Man fan, this clearly isn’t aimed at me.
I have no hope left for this character. I don’t think this was the best idea for reviving the blue bomber.
But that’s okay. I still enjoy the old games. Capcom thankfully can’t ruin the past.

                    1. They say never look a gift horse in the mouth, Commander, but an aquatic darkling seems… impractical and downright painful as a mount. Plus if you look in it’s mouth… it kills you. :p

It should have been made by an anime company. Cartoon Network was the worst people to work with with this game. :/ I’ll be honestly shocked if it ends up being the opposite of what Teen Titans & Powerpuff Girls have become…

  3. Don’t care too much to watch the show. But if this means a revival of some much needed modern Megaman games I’m all for it lol let’s just hope they don’t just make crappy Megaman TV show games to cash in on the little children

    1. I feel like some people are just so out of touch with certain ip’s they have no reason to be involved with them. Take the Ninja Turtles for example. That would be such an easy video game to develop, and it would be a cash cow no doubt. But the people in charge have no idea what the fans want. They are so out of touch with the IP that they cannot create a decent video game. Shit all they’d have to do is make Turtles in Time sequel with up to date graphics and gameplay…. Mega Man is in the same position. A bunch of 60 and 70 year old men shitting their pants and being completely clueless about the IP and what fans want from it.

        1. Yea I don’t know how they managed that. If you gave me the BotW developers and made me the lead developer, I’d make the most bad ass Turtles game ever known .. Turtles in Time style, with all the popular characters and villains.. A character progression system with abilities and upgradable stats… I would make it to where the turtle could equip different weapons, similar to dark souls.. but say Leonardo would have a buff when using swords, Michelangelo with nunchucks, etc. etc… Really the game would be Turtles in Time meets Dark Souls… But with its own unique art style…

You can’t tell me that game wouldn’t sell bazillions of copies!!

      1. Lol yes it would. Now if they use the cartoon as an excuse to bring back some good Megaman sidescrolling action that would be amazing and I’ll be grateful to the show for that at least

Til you realize those games are gonna have this hideous design of Mega Man in them. Be careful what you wish for from this cartoon, mate.

  4. I bet Suna Light is going to be his pain-in-the-ass Ms. Right-all-the-time girl power! sister (because Roll isn’t good enough for who she is).

Mega Man Boom: Rise of Wily

    1. Pretty sure that’s because ZX is the most obscure Mega Man series other than Star Force, and while its premise is perfect for a Mega Man cartoon, ZX isn’t nearly popular enough that people would watch a show based on it.

Yeah. Cartoon Network knows how to handle action characters for kids. They turn them into asinine comedy shows where there is only a tiny amount of action. The rest is of the characters being total dumbshits. Children like some action shows, too, god damn it, with intelligent characters! This is why some kids grow up to be idiots because the cartoons they watch are idiotic.
