The Switch eShop Now Has A “Best Sellers” Section

We can now inform you about the results of the latest maintenance that Nintendo recently did. A brand new section is now available on the Nintendo Switch’s eShop. In Europe, it is called the “Charts” section. Elsewhere, it is “Best Sellers”. And yes, the name sums up exactly what the section is supposed to do. it charts the best-selling games, based on software with the most downloads that were done in the past 2 weeks. Europe is not only different in the name of the section, but also the chart data itself. Europe’s charts vary depending on the country you’re in. 1. It’s telling that BOTW isn’t further up the download charts outside of Japan. I suppose physical releases are more popular in the West? Snipperclips is doing well… And the Japanese really like their retro games! I can’t blame them. I love that retro ports are coming to the Switch. I’m just not a fan of the specific games so far.

    1. Physical releases are definitely the reason. Most people still prefer physical media because…well, digital-only is a pretty awful experience at times. *Looks at my vita memory card which wont allow me to play my games because they dont show up in the menu, and cant delete them or redownload them because the card is “full”….*

      1. On the other hand, I’ve been all-digital with all my consoles since Wii U/3DS and not had a problem (yet). I have confidence that Nintendo is working hard to get it right.

        1. You will, in time. Flash memory destroys itself pretty quickly. Faster than a cartridhe or disc. I’n dreading the day when my SD cards lose their info and Nintendo’s services won’t allow me to redownload when they go offline.

    1. From the source at Nintendo Everything:
“Initial charts are available for North America, Europe, and Japan. We’ve posted all of the information below (in our case we’re specifically posted the UK charts since Europe’s ranking is set per country)”

        1. Excellent choice? Actually, Commander, High command sells far more games to Humans than… uhh… Commanders. So unless your music choice comes with a new Metroid Prime game, I like my choice better. :p
