Video: Here’s The First Charging Case That Gives Nintendo Switch 12 Hours More Battery Life

A London-based company called InDemand Design is currently in the middle of producing the first charging case for the Nintendo Switch console. ‘SwitchCharge’ packs a whopping 12,000mAh battery and InDemand Design are claiming it will give your Switch an extra 12 hours of juice. It can even house 2 game cards in its storage bay.  Take a look at the GIF below to see how the console fits into the case:

The only sting for some could be the price point. It’s currently on IndieGoGo and early backers for the project will be set back a hefty $75 with standard retailer cases attracting around $135. There’s still a long way to go for the accessory to come into fruition as the final figure they need to meet is $80,000. At the time of writing they’re just sitting under the $18,000 mark.

Check out the promotional video below for a closer look at the impressive SwitchCharge accessory.

    1. Well, you’re getting a beefy battery, USB Port and an HDMI Output so you can basically keep the screen on the Switch clean of scratches. This is basically the Switch dock on steroids and Reggie wasn’t wrong about people making different solutions to creating a way to use the Switch in both modes without the need of the dock.

  1. I don’t know about you guys but I don’t see this is a dock ‘replacement’. More of a decent tabletop accessory rather than a dock, as well as a decent charging case of course.

    1. The only use I’d get out of it now is my California trip in July. I’ll most likel just get a standard portable charger for this special cases. It would work with my phone too so bonus.

      1. Yeah. I went on a drive last week, and i just plugged it into an adapter in my car. Worked perfectly fine. The battery life really hasn’t been an issue at all for me.

  2. I’m not seeing an HDMI output, If you mean the thing above the USB-C port, that’s clearly too small to be an HDMI port.

    1. MiniHDMI would be about that size, but as long as theyre not advertising HDMI, I dont believe in it. The thing would have to have a switch somewhere turning it between dock and handheld, too

  4. I had to back this. I definitely think they are going to smash through that goal. Their more then halfway through now in just a day. I don’t like having to carry around a power bank all the time so this is worth it to me. I hope it works as advertised and if they can include HDMI out that would be great but I don’t see it happening Nintendo may want to keep that restricted for their dock. Really hope these guys don’t let me down

  5. I’m loving my Switch. I play my Zelda in my room, on the toilet, out at the park, lunch break at work. Nintendo just got them self a fantastic system. Because that’s what I’m doing with my phone. To save some of the battery usage, I tone down the brightness on screen.
