It’s been a while since the Legend of Zelda amiibo series began, but a few more are coming this summer. Releasing on July 23rd, these alternate Links will also unlock costumes in Breath of the Wild. Check out some pictures below.

shinygold2 shouldn’t have to preorder something that should be well stocked upon release when they know it’s gonna be popular.
Exactly. Before this had the exact same functions of the Smash amiibo and they gave no hint to it functioning differently in any future title. They discontinued this before BotW even released and they knew it would cause a supply and demand problem among the fans once when word got out it’s the only ‘official’ way to get the content.
When the Switch started doing great in sales, it seems either there are a lot more fanboys coming back to the blog, they are more active again as they were still here but simply watching from the sidelines because they’d just get chewed up if they tried to protect Nintendo, or there are just people becoming fanboys not of Nintendo but of the Switch itself. *shrug* Oh well. It doesn’t really matter. They aren’t gonna change anyone’s opinion that speaks negatively of Nintendo, the Switch, or both. We’ll all just keep on trucking along with the rest of the world.

You’re complaining that you can’t find OOT link amiibo, because you want the costume for it in BotW. Well you should have pre-ordered it… “But no exclusive content!” You’re just whining because you didn’t get one lol.
No, I’m “whining” because I’m basically locked out from content that none of the other amiibos offer. That’s probably not what you took out of it but it is.

Not saying it’s not, I managed to get the Sm4sh Link amiibos and I was only planning to get one amiibo of each character, I didn’t want two mario amiibos in the same way I didn’t want two adult Link amiibos whether it be TP Link or OoT Link. In my mind, OoT Link and Sm4sh were both adult Link and would be treated as such in every game in the same sense as both the Wind Waker Link amiibos would have the same functionality, even in BotW. They announced that you would be able to get a costume in BotW when the OoT amiibo was being distributed, but they didn’t say how many the game would offer and I assumed that you would just get one tunic no matter which Link amiibo you scanned and that was it. When I found out they were actually offering a costume for each Link and you actually needed to get more than one I went to the store and got an 8 Bit Link amiibo, but OoT Link to this day hasn’t been seen on the shelves. If they announced you would get the OoT Link clothes in BotW prior to all of this i would’ve preordered this, but they didn’t and to this day I’m still looking for one. Even of a hope of a different OoT Link amiibo being released that gives the same costume is hopeless since the datamine hinted that there would be two Twilight Princess amiibos, one that was already released, and one that wasn’t announced at the time offered two different amiibos to unlock the costume, but the OoT costume was compatible with only one amiibo. Unless if they redistribute it (which I highly doubt with it being treated like an anniversary amiibo) I’ll have to shell out more money than what it’s worth, unless if I just get an etsy card which I’m planning to if this doesn’t get resolved eventually. It’s frustrating.
Nintendo needs to do better. Not suffer in the shadow of mediocrity because idiot fanboys are happy with things the way they are.
Amiibo cards from etsy. I haven’t gotten them yet, but I’m thinking about it for Sheik amiibo because I never got that one.
POSSIBLE SPOILER: I got the Ocarina Of Time clothes just by scanning the regular Smash Bros. Link amiibo. Not to mention, Epona.
Wrong, you get the Twilight Princess Link Clothes and Epona, not the OoT
Well if it wasn’t the Smash Link that gave the Ocarina Of Time clothes, it must have been one of the two Toon Links I used. OR the Pixel Link amiibo.
Both Toon Links give you the Wind Waker armor smh… Stop trying to make false statements.

The color palette for the TP Link amiibo lools nothing like his design from the game.
It seems they modeled these after the graphics in BotW. Hence why TP Link is actually brighter than he should be.
