Production Of The NES Classic Edition Has Stopped In Australia

Even Australia is not spared from Nintendo’s recent decision on the NES Classic Edition. Recently, Nintendo announced that production of the NES Classic Edition would be discontinued in North America and halted temporarily in Japan. Now, we have learned from a Nintendo Australia representative that spoke to the site Vooks that production of the console has ended in Australia too. Nintendo said that “we can confirm that we are no longer manufacturing the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System”. However, they didn’t rule out a revival of production in the future, explaining that “if production resumes in the future, an update will be posted on the official Nintendo website”.

  1. I didn’t even want one, but I it still dumbfounds me on exactly why you would discontinue a product that has no problem of selling. Even if it’s because they’re worried about vc on the Switch, the majority buying this most likely haven’t gotten an Nintendo console in years.

  2. It has been out of stock here for a long time. I think it’s only been available through online stores from day one.
