Breath Of The Wild Developers Were Inspired By The Creativeness Of E3 Attendees

Breath of the Wild gives players an immense amount of freedom, allowing players to simply play with objects in its robust physics engine. In an interview with GameSpot, the game’s developers talked about how they knew they were doing right when they watched people playing the game at E3. When director Hidemaro Fujibayashi saw a E3 attendee building a catapult for the first time, he was delighted to see players discovering things he hadn’t imagined possible. Check out the full interview here.

“We also saw, and I think this was just an E3 attendee, that used objects to fashion their own catapult and then fling themselves across the landscape. That also looked pretty fun. And that made me feel, ‘Yeah, this freedom we wanted to give players is really coming through here.'”
