Nintendo: “Various Third-Party Publishers Have Much Interest In Unique Features Of Nintendo Switch”

During Nintendo’s latest financial briefing, company president Tatsumi Kimishima assured that a number of third-party publishers have expressed interest in developing games for Nintendo Switch. They are impressed by the new console’s main features, such as the ability to play at home or on the go, according to Kimishima. Switch owners can look forward to getting their hands on games in the NBA2K series by Take-Two Games and the FIFA series by Electronic Arts in the future.

“As previously announced, the NBA2K series by Take-Two Games and the FIFA series by Electronic Arts, both popular overseas, will be coming to Nintendo Switch,” Kimishima said. “There will also be several unique titles from indie developers coming to Nintendo Switch. Also, we have heard that various third-party publishers have much interest in unique features of Nintendo Switch. The ability to play anytime and anywhere on Nintendo Switch will undoubtedly bring fresh appeal to games from third-party publishers. The variety of genres represented by these titles will help Nintendo reach broader audiences than we would be able to otherwise. On Nintendo Switch, we are promoting the establishment of a collaborative framework that facilitates the creation of many successful third-party titles right away.”

      1. still it’s a very valid argument. I’m a bit on the fence about this. If you look at for instance Zelda, it’s actually not so bad that these buttons aren’t analog as it feels better to have real digital triggers there (not just for that kind of game and mechanic) so I kinda do understand that Nintendo didn’t want to sacrifice that functionality just for one genre that won’t really be on their system anyways.

        Still I do think that analog triggers expand the possibilities of a system and with them, there would just be even more possible on the switch. Which now isn’t. And I’d prefer a feature that is there and might not be utilized that often but really shines when that happens over a feature that isn’t there at all. And I do believe that analog triggers would add way, way, way more to possible games than the infrared camera will do.

      1. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits. This use to be something that awaited those for all consoles. It's sad it's mostly just a PS4 slogan these days. Maybe Nintendo will get back to that greatness with the Switch. Only time will tell.}

        @.@ If this ends up being a thing in that exact color, I’ll take 2: one to use & one to put up in a glass case attached to a brand new Joy-Con Charging Grip! @.@ *inner collector activated*

  3. Kimishima’s statements here are meaningless. Nothing he says indicates further 3rd party support beyond what we already know about. This is all just fluff for investors’ sake.
