Rumour: ‘Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle’ Launches Aug/Sept 2017, Powered By The Snowdrop Engine And More

It would seem that we will indeed be seeing a Mario / Rabbids crossover RPG game on Nintendo Switch soon; if their reliable source of information is correct. Apparently ‘Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle’ will launch this year; in August or September to be exact. The insider also claims that the game will be of an RPG nature with its unique selling points being a) turn-based combat, b) two-player local co-op, and c) a goofy sense of humour. The quirky crossover title will also make use of the Snowdrop Engine which is owned by the publisher of the unnanounced title, Ubisoft. The game will apparently have eight playable characters: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, and, bizarrely, four Rabbids dressed up as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Peach.

      1. I know that it’s not the same, but we have Mario & Luigi RPG Series (Superstar Saga, Partners in Time, Bowser’s Inside Story and Dream Team). They are all great games and have a lot in common with Super Mario RPG for SNES.

  1. Snowdrop seems like an odd choice. A game with this style wouldn’t really need such a high tech engine. If it does use it though I guess that gives no excuse for no Battlefront 2, maybe.

  2. I’m open to new ideas. If it’s good why not. not really into strategy games tho so if it’s strategy rpg that’s most likely a no go for me

    1. Boi she still wrong first of all the guy hasn’t show any evidence that this is possible he literally just claims he has art of it but he won’t show insiders are garbage if they can’t show evidence I need physical evidence and data not some guy or gal just talking its gonna happen

  3. Ugh, I think it would be better to have no game at all than…. this. Anything with Rabbids is revolting to me, even the Minions are more appealing.

  4. The Mario part of the game needs to be pretty dominant for me to buy into this idea. I can’t stand the rabbids, so I can see myself giving this a pass.

  6. Rabbids are annoying, yes, but usually their games consists of the main characters despising and torturing them anyway so whats the big deal?
Also this is totally a small gateway for Smash Rayman

  7. If the other party characters were actual Rayman characters (like Rayman, Globox, etc) then I’d be more interested. I just don’t care about the Rabbids. Never have. I find them to be obnoxious more than anything. If this were a game where you’d just be killing them, then I’d be all for it.

Maybe gameplay will change my mind, but I’m not counting on it.
This is such an odd sounding crossover.

  8. I feel like Nintendo can be so good, and then turn around and just be so mediocre. I couldn’t imagine anybody is very excited for this game… another Mario spin off with ……. Rabbids?? I thought that IP died off years ago… Of all the games Nintendo could make… geez

    1. It might be good so let’s not crucify Nintendo just yet. They could be using this title as a ” gap filler ” until the main guns arrive. Who knows…….if this game is a success, it may lead Ubisoft into fully supporting the Switch with its biggest titles but we will see

      1. It might be a fun game, but lately nintendo’s Mario inspired rpg’s have not impressed. We’ll see, but if they make the story and characters an afterthought like they usually do, I wouldn’t get my hopes too high.

      2. And what the hell is with this new setup here at MNN?? It’s absolutely horrible. The way it was before was perfect. Why is my username verical instead of horizontal. This setup gives me a headache and makes posts hard to read.

    2. Ive been excited about this since the rumors started lol. It just seems like such a cool mix mainly because its so unexpected! I am genuinely excited and cant wait till its fully revealed lol
