Here’s What The Neon Yellow Joy-Con Look Like In The Flesh

This week in Japan, Nintendo has been hosting special events in stores for the forthcoming game ARMS; Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was also playable. They had display units that showcased the neon yellow Joy-Con. Reportedly, this is the first time we’ve seen them out in the wild. You can check out some of the pictures below:

  1. Heh, Nintendo Everything putting watermarks on their pictures. Funny.

    On a serious note, those look pretty good. I’ll pass, though, already got gray and red/blue pair, don’t need a third right away. And no doubt will Nintendo be spitting out new (limited) editions, so I’ll wait for something which appeals more to me. Perhaps something Zelda themed.

    1. On YouTube, I HATE uploaders who use watermarks. I wanna slap them. I use lots of YouTube videos as references in my home videos. And sometimes I have to search forever just to find a video that’s not ruined with a watermark. Sometimes I have no choice but to just use the watermark videos.

      1. Where’s the reply button? I wanted to reply to Luigi, but I had to reply to my own self because Luigi had no reply button.

        Anyway, I was going to add, it REALLY annoys me when YouTubers have watermarks over game footage videos. Footage that anyone can record themselves. It’s understandable if they put watermarks on home videos with themselves featured. But not GAME videos. Besides, watermarks mean nothing. All a person has to do is add their own watermark over the original, if they wanted to make the video look like it was their own.

      1. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits. This use to be something that awaited those for all consoles. It's sad it's mostly just a PS4 slogan these days. Maybe Nintendo will get back to that greatness with the Switch. Only time will tell.}

        Better yet: gold Joy-Cons with silver/platinum buttons. The platinum would stand out nicely with the overall gold color.

  2. My question though, are those small docks for the joycons new as well? Or are they just security docs so they can’t be detached?

      1. Methinks I gotta get me some of those- for some reason, my right Joy-Con just won’t charge while attached to the Switch while it’s docked, even over 24 hours since last use. This might alleviate that issue to some degree.

      1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

        ||Sonicgalaxy27, you attacked my Disciple in a previous thread, I will only warn you once, you don’t go against The First Order or you will be punished by banishment…||

    1. The neons all look worse in photos. These are extremely bright and hard for cameras to capture. I mean, not everyone likes neon yellow, I know I don’t, but I won’t call the neon yellows truly ugly until I see them in person.

      1. Yellow should be ok, like the old GameBoy, but Neon Yellow do look really ugly. Though I haven’t see them in person (but old Yellow GameBoy looked ok).

    1. Think about as bright as a yellow highlighter. Cameras aren’t the best at capturing images of these controllers. Even the blue ones caused a weird issue when photographed where the controller was so blue, that area of colors had been compressed more than the rest of the area, leaving an outline made up of larger than normal pixels surrounding my Joy-Con.

  3. Honestly i don’t have no reason to purchase different color joycons since I cover them with the rubber protective case anyway. Have grey joycons and blue gel cases and they look exactly like the blue neon joycons

    I agreed with Agato about neon colors looking ugly unless they glow, BUT the Neon Blue & Red ones I bought have grown on me. Now to decide which of the neons I got right now to trade in at GameStop for a Neon Yellow Joy-Con when they get them in at the store. I’m leaning towards getting rid of the blue one.

    If those battery packs come with some kind of bump on the bottom, I’d get them just so I can use the Joy-Cons without the grip. The straps that already come with them make it horrible to press certain buttons so I don’t use them. I’d love to not have to use the grip for the Joy-Cons & play my games as if I was playing the Wii, minus a cord connecting them.
