Are you ready for Super Mario Odyssey? The main man behind Mario’s voice, Charles Martinet, wants to know. The voice actor posed the question to his followers today via Twitter – in a post that has already garnered hundreds of retweets, more than a thousand likes and over a hundred replies. Fans are hoping that Martinet’s ambiguous question means they’ll soon be able to see more of Super Mario Odyssey, possibly next month as part of Nintendo’s unannounced E3 2017 plans.

The ps4 doesnt come with vr dude. It has the ps move tech in the controller but its still a normal controller. You may as well complain about sixaxis in the ps3 controller. I also had no problems with the wii u gamepad. It was a normal controller with a screen on it.

I don’t know if anyone could. It’s almost as if Mario would have to have a completely new voice if Martinet died. Unless someone else could sound exactly the same. What’s funny is that when Charles Martinet first gave Mario a voice, I thought it was completely stupid and ridiculous. Because I was so used to Mario’s deeper voice in the Super Mario Bros. Super Show cartoons etc. But eventually I got used to Martinet’s high pitched Mario voice. Even if it does make Mario sound as if he’s been inhaling helium.

I have never heard ANYONE who actually sounded like Mario. Most people just sound like idiots when they do his voice. And even if someone DID sound just like Mario, there would be a snowball’s chance in hell that they could also do the other characters that Charles Martinet does voices for.
Trust me. If they really tried, they could definitely find someone to sound exactly like Martinet’s Mario to voice Mario, and the other characters he voices. It might take awhile to find someone, if they haven’t already got a replacement in mind when the inevitable death of Martinet does occur, but they can definitely find someone. Whether they’ll actually try is another matter, though.
Speaking of guys that can sound nearly just like the original voice actor of a character, I can’t wait for the series finale of Samurai Jack. The replacement to voice Aku, since Mako passed away many, many years ago, sounds nearly just like him. I think it might be the same voice actor who replaced Mako to voice the uncle in Nickelodeon’s Avatar.
I’m stoked. Can’t wait.

“The only decision that was made from an E3 consideration standpoint was ‘do we show Super Mario Odyssey from a hands-on perspective today versus E3?’ And we’re going to show it at E3. But at least from a Nintendo perspective, there’s no other consideration that is driven by E3.”
