SEGA has amassed a huge back catalogue of quality titles over the years and has said today that it plans to revitalise some of them. The move comes as SEGA announced a new business plan titled road to 2020. The company wouldn’t reveal the various series they are looking to resurrect, but this news will come as welcome news to fans of SEGA and their extensive back catalogue of video games.

But Super Monkey Ball isn’t very old. When I hear that they’re reviving franchises, I’m thinking about games that haven’t been around since the cartridge days. Well, the OLD cartridge days. Or maybe the early Gamecube days.

I could list all of the series I’d like Sega to bring back, but that would take too long. They used to make so many great games.
Finally. Sega please be good this time. My favorites were, Space Channel 5, Jet Set Radio, Chu Chu Rocket, NiGHTS, House of the Dead, Super Monkey Ball. I could go on and on.
Because Hideki Naganuma is already working on his own indie game, I can’t see how can Sega make a new Jet Set Radio without him.
But I can damn well agree most of these classics deserve to be revived, especially House of the Dead and Super Monkey Ball.

I would love to see a new Ristar game myself possibly a new Ecco the Dolphin game as well but I’m not holding my breath.

I guess that Switch could factor in here quite a lot, judging by the appetite gamers had for Bomberman – that game exceeded expectations. Also a lot of eshop revivals have done really well

A new Phantasy Star Online is all I need and I could leave this life happily. Even an HD remake of Ep I & II with online and a few new features and items would be welcome. One could dream…
An extended main story would be nice. I hated the way the originals ended. So many questions left unanswered. Oh & more to the side quest concerning that robot that looked like a maid. I loved that side story more than I did the game’s main story and was pretty sad when the thing ended with no resolution. I was hoping Episode II would continue it but no such luck. :/
I agree completely man. The thing with Red Ring Rico confused the hell out of me lol. The story telling wasn’t all that good but dammit the gameplay and collectibles were awesome. I just have so many great memories playing with my friends locally and online. I still play every now and then. I think any PSO at this point would be appreciated.
The game heavily hinted at what happened to Rico, though, but it still left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
