Monster Hunter XX Is Coming To The Nintendo Switch

Capcom has dropped quite a bombshell tonight. The company has confirmed that Monster Hunter XX will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. It will have a different name on the console, as Capcom is calling it Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver., and that’s not all. In just a couple of days, we will be getting more information on the port at the Monster Hunter Summit Tournament in Sapporo on May 27th. Both YouTube and Fresh will be hosting the tournament starting 12:00 JST, so you will be able to see the entire event for yourself. In the meantime, we’ve included the official Japanese tweet that announced the port down below. Feel free to check it out.

    1. I mean,,, you don’t have to be so ungreatful towards Capcom, this is amazing for MH fans such as I and you should respect that Capcom is porting a big franchise to Switch. If it sells well, then we’ll probably get more games on Switch like Resident Evil.

      1. Yeah, i feel like the reason they couldn’t do more with BotW is because of the absolutely trash architecture of the Wii U compared to Switch. Porting over games is almost definitely a nightmare, and they already delayed the game several times. That’s why the could suddenly dramatically improve the framerate while keeping the exact same graphics. It was a problem of bad code frok tge Wii U hampering the Switch.

  1. Now we know why this game on 3DS was never confirmed for outside of Japan. We’re obviously getting the Switch version.

      1. Sorry, Adoofus, the Douche-bag Troll… but you are a f***ing whale. Step off, Mr. Salty Tears.

    1. what is this …why Anoobis the devil cat doesn’t getting ban?
i am getting bullied here !!!!! haahhahahaha
Anubis i am laughing every time you getting butthurt just because you see my name
i have hurt your feeling pretty bad right?do you need some help so can feel better again? i can help you

      1. His ass has been freaking whupped by the positive news from both CAPCOM and Nintendo. Not only that, Nintendo’s stocks have rose big time both in Japan and here in America.

    2. For the record, XX is the worst selling MH game. However, this is definitely a step in the right direction for Capcom and the Switch.

  2. GG in Japan. Considering most MH games reach more than 1 million units sold on Japan, I can easily see this game reaching at least 500K with the current install base of the Switch

  3. Final-f*cking-ly!!! Monster Hunter on the go!…..Oh wait!

On a serious note Switch will sell millions more with killer apps like this. So excited for this!

    1. You mean, “finally a Monster Hunter on a home console!”
Not since Monster hunter 3 Ultimate has there been a console version. Still to this day my favorite game in the series

  4. Does this mean that the recent set of Japan exclusive Monster Hunter amiibo will release in North America? I just ordered Nabiru (which reminds me of Meowth). And here I was feeling devious and ornery, thinking that I was going to own a Japan exclusive amiibo that nobody in my family can get.

  5. If CAPCOM were to localize the Nintendo exclusive Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Edition for North America and Europe… Kimishima-san, Koizumi-san, Shibata, and The Regginator are gonna drop their mics in glorious victory!

  6. Hopefully it will not tank since japanese already have it with the Nintendo 3DS and it launched not so much time ago. It would have been better to make a completely new game in the serie.

    1. As I said above this could be the version that gets a worldwide release with the 3DS version being Japan exclusive. It would actually make a lot of sense.

      1. It’s ok for me. Hope it is for japanese too. I do expect something new and not an identical version, to please the people that already bought it.

        1. The only people that have it are in Japan. The 3DS version hasn’t been confirmed for anywhere else yet.

  7. This makes the delay on the 3DS version more sensical. Now they can just simulrelease it for both consoles once it’s good to go outside of Japan like the did with MH3U.

  8. The west will get both versions due to the fact that they are about to release the New 2ds and the 3ds has way more devices in the household. I’m buying both the 3ds and Switch version.

  9. HELL FUCKING YEAH!!!! It was inevitable that the franchise would end up on the Switch….it just made so much sense to. I’m hoping that Capcom reworks and retextures this title giving it the full remastered treatment instead of just hi-ressing it but nonetheless it’s exciting to know that a major franchise like this is coming to the Switch. Nintendo’s strangle hold on the Japanese gaming market just got tighter

  11. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits. This use to be something that awaited those for all consoles. It's sad it's mostly just a PS4 slogan these days. Maybe Nintendo will get back to that greatness with the Switch. Only time will tell.}

Too bad online is gonna possibly be ruined by Ninty’s stupid phone bullshit.
