Ubisoft Unveils New Logo

Ubisoft has undergone some changes today and have released a brand new logo for 2017.  You can see the evolution that the logo has undergone in the image below with the 1986 logo being my personal favourite. What do you think to the new logo for the company?

The new swirl is an evolution of our existing logo that marks a new era for Ubisoft, one with an increased focus on live and digital games as well as a player-centric approach to creating immersive worlds.

  1. Okay no this looks like shit. I get the point and advantages of minimalism but that’s just bad. Like, really bad.
    The font looks nice at least, I guess…

    1. The blue was really important. They always animate the logo with the blue swirl when you play a Ubisoft game. What are they going to do now??

  2. Honestly looks like someone used the pen tool to trace over the current one and said “fuck it!”… Admittedly the font looks pretty good.

  3. My first impression is that I don’t like it, but it looks like it’ll just take some getting used to. I think it’ll all come down to how the logo animation is presented in future games.

    1. Exactly this, I’m surprised that the old logo is from 2003. Still looks really good today, and much newer then 2003.

  4. The original swirl was better because it was both iconic and generic enough that they could add more flair to it based on the game it was attached to. New one looks only fitting for Rayman.

    1. But minimalism, sleek, and thin are all in right now! Lol I think this is a good balance of not going too overboard. Very similar of Taco Bells new logo and Verizion. I really hope this trend stays.

  5. Sounds like they are going to focus on being anti corporate for a while. This is probably a wise choice for customers, but it seems the actual motivation and goal is to prevent being bought out. Honestly I don’t think it will work. It’s to little to late, but given their position to resist this hostile take over I can see a movie like this as a wave of things to come that well try to deflect interest in such a take over. You can be sure this is only a first move in many to come.

  6. As someone who is studying Graphic Design the overall logo looks really good, modern, and sleek. However what the hell are they thinking with those ends that dont add up in the logo and in the “O”. The font is excellent and the logo is very good simplied but with the ends not touching it looks like someone just had fun with the stroke tool and didnt bother to fix the stragglers.

  7. Looks decent though I miss some colors, it’s dull and a bit rough. Nintendo still the best one, colored, striking. Rare it’s good, Capcom it’s good, SEGA it’s good, Konami it’s good. Midway, Sierra…
    Well it’s turning out more mediocre than decent. They really need a shift in QA because no one sane of mind would have approved this for such a big company. And the old one wasn’t good either.

  8. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits. This use to be something that awaited those for all consoles. It's sad it's mostly just a PS4 slogan these days. Maybe Nintendo will get back to that greatness with the Switch. Only time will tell.}

    While I don’t mind minimalism as some look fine but this is just minimalism at its worst. Please keep the blue logo because this one utterly sucks! It’s a fucking eyesore!
