Konami Says There Are “Lots Of Internal Discussions” Occurring Within The Company On Switch Games

Miketendo64 recently conducted an interview with Richard Jones, a European Brand Manager at Konami. The interview had a couple of interesting moments, the first of which was regarding Switch support. Jones says that “all I can say is that there is lots of internal discussions going on within Konami regarding what games we can bring to the Nintendo Switch, other than Bomberman, a game which we are well aware of its heritage and how loved it and Castlevania is. So much so that Castlevania is getting is getting its own show on Netflix and because of that, we’re hearing a lot of desires from our fans for a new Castlevania series. So we do know there is a demand for a new game, but right now nothing is set in stone as the discussions are still on going.”

Another question was regarding Bomberman R’s support.  Miketendo64 wanted to know how long Konami was planning to support the game. Jones responded by saying that “while I can’t say how long far we will continue to support Super Bmberman R, I can say we do have plenty of other ideas in the works and have a few big updates on the way. For example, while I can’t announce anything for the version 1.5 update, suffice to say there will be more stages and other things. But although I can’t confirm there will be more costumes/characters, there may or may not be some more later on down the line. We’ll just have to see how it goes.”

    1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

      ||I want them to hand over Bomberman, Mystical Ninja and Castlevania, anything else is just a bonus…||

      1. You know what else they ought to make or relinquish over for someone else to do? Lost in Blue. I loved the original 3 games on the original DS, never found the Wii one though. It’s a series I would like to see not only revitalized, but improved on as well.

          1. It’s a bunch of desert island survival games where you must keep two (four in the third one) castaways alive long enough to escape. I remember 2 as being the hardest because of the island’s design and your meters (hunger, thirst, stamina, and HP) drain much quicker than in the first. Third one had the most story- a little more than just “we’re stranded and have to escape”- any more and I would go into spoiler territory.

    1. The switch probally could not handle a Castlevania or it would be to violent for Nintendo’s liking. Mega Man Double Dragon and Castlevania like games used to be Nintendo’s Violent games like shooters, GTA, The Witcher these days. Those day’s are long gone though,

      1. Evidently, the Nintendo Switch CAN handle a Castlevania title. What you have failed to realize, pretendoblob, is there was a rated T Castlevania game for the Wii. Since KONAMI and FROM SOFTWARE supports Nintendo and have a partnership for making games on the Switch. You never know if they’re making a rated M Castlevania game exclusively for Nintendo’s hybrid platform.

      2. Nintendo financed Bayonetta 2 which is probably even more violent than any Castlevania game has been. I doubt that would be a problem.

  1. I want to play Lords of Shadow on the go… this may be just me, but i loved that game on my ps3…
Wondered why it didn’t come to the WiiU… wish it did on the Switch… Lords of shadows 2… i don’t care for that one…

    1. Castlrvania Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate is on 3DS and is a 2D castlevania style game with 120 million polygon 3D graphics in the best stereoscopic 3D effect ever.

      1. Lol i know that game is on the 3DS, i have a new 3DS XL and soon gonna buy a New 2DS for my girl. I have an extensive library on my 3DS as i love that portable system. But i would like the Lords of Shadow that came on the PS3 on the Switch…

      1. Sorry if you didn’t like it, but as i said i did liked Lords of Shadow and would love to play the game where ever i want to on the go. I know not many liked the game, but i sure did and a lot.

        1. Sorry. LOS was a failed reboot that was a Sonyan God of War ripoff with poor gameplay and a badly planned story. Even Sir Patrick Stewart couldn’t save it. It’s 3DS game was bad and the second game was incoherent.

          1. As i said before… i liked the game… i liked the story, and everything for the game. If i could pay for it to be on my Switch (as in mine only) I would gladly pay for it.
