You’ve probably seen reports scattered over the web that Nintendo’s E3 Spotlight presentation will be thirty minutes. Well, that’s indeed correct as Nintendo Canada has just tweeted that the event will be roughly thirty minutes and will be immediately followed by the Treehouse Live presentation. Nintendo Spotlight E3 2017 begins at 9am PT which is 5pm BST on Tuesday, June 13th.

E3 2015 showed off FedshitForce. That alone made it one of the worst E3s Nintendo has ever done.

Metroid Prime itself is a spin off. A bad spin off of a good spin off does nobody any favors. Except those poor suckers that actually liked said bad spin off.
And the fact it’s supposed to be a lead in to the next Metroid Prime game doesn’t help it’s spin off status… at all.

This E3 better be good on Nintendo’s part. I wasn’t worried until I got this news in addition to the abysmal Pokemon Direct.
Doesn’t sound to promising. 30 minutes? And you know Nintendo will be talking about games we already know about. Splatoon 2 will probably get some screen time. Doesn’t leave much time for new stuff. But we’ll have to wait to see what they do before judging the content.

Mario Odyssey is the only reason I would buy a Switch at this point in time, it looks fantastic.
This is do or die for me. Slthough i’m already done with the switch, this is the last glimmer of hope. Major multiplatform games with Nintendo first party is the ideal console afterall. Wishfull thinking on my part, I suppose.
That is definitely the ideal console for me as well. But I doubt we’ll see one anytime soon.

God I hope not. That would be a TERRIBLE business decision. The entire point of the Switch from a business standpoint is to change the terms of the console battle to one where Nintendo has always shined, portability. To release a new dock (which would be extremely expensive, so almost nobody would buy it, and consequently no devs would design for it) which effectively chains the system to the wall takes away its strongest feature so that it can fight Sony on Sony’s terms. They don’t want to fight Sony on Sony’s terms, they want to force Sony to make a portable console.

It’s already a hybrid that people can take anywhere. A dock that puts it on the power of a PS4 Pro won’t hurt anything & will only make it even better for those that could care less about portability. If you don’t want your Switch chained to a wall, just don’t buy the dock since I’m sure Nintendo will still support the base Switch. Just be ready to kiss games like Final Fantasy VII Remake or Kingdom Hearts III good bye as I honestly don’t think the current Switch can handle those games. Least not without downgrading them, anyway.
Don’t say that about FF VII! It’s one of the last vestiges of hope I have for video games! If it doesn’t come to the Switch, one less (major) reason for me to buy one.
Hence why the Switch needs something to make it stronger. A dock that increases it’s power is better than an entirely new device that will cost another 300, or more, bucks. With a dock increasing power, that should only be around 150-200 bucks since you’ll already have the actual Switch. In fact, didn’t Nintendo patent a device that could be used as a supplementary device to increase the power of another device? Pretty sure MNN had an article about it a while back before the Switch was revealed to be what it is.
The new dock itself would be 150-200? With that kind of money, I’m guessing it would make the docked mode of the Switch a real beast. As for the patent, I don’t know. I see patent articles by Nintendo and by the end of the week I usually forget all about them haha. So to go that far back, I definitely don’t remember. There’s that old age kicking in again!
Well I guess the price would also take into account if it’s just a power booster or if it’s a power booster AND a hard drive booster. I’d pay 200 for a power booster & for 2-3tb of data storage. It’d be less expensive than buying a load of high end micro SD cards which would go well up to 500 bucks, if I’m being generous, or more.
Hmm. Well, I don’t really know anything about specs, so I’ll take your word for it haha. I have heard people say 2-3 tb often, so I’m assuming that is really powerful. Or a lot of storage. Or whatever haha.

They already showed so many reveals before E3 that 30minutes should be enough to go over stuff we know, with a few surprises. Plus don’t forget about Treehouse because that’s were they’re going deep, and they confirmed they will have announcements then as well. So 30 min should be good.
Not nearly enough time for all the amazing multiplatform games like Call of duty, Overwatch, Battlefield, The Witcher, Red Dead Redemption 2 , GTA 5, Metal Gear, Tomb Raider and 20 others multiplatform games if I could keep going. Long story short realistic mature games besides all the look at me i’m so happy with My Little Pony for the switch.

Actual adults don’t care about their games having “mature themes”. It was a ridiculous argument when Sega made it in the 90’s, and it’s a ridiculous argument now.
I prefer PC/PS4/Xbox multiplatform third party over Nintendo third party. Been playing since 8 bit and gameboy back in the days. Those realistic games to give it a name are the double dragon, castlevania, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat of the current age. Most of all I like great video games and 90% of the amazing games these days don’t get released on Nintendo consoles. Ofcourse I care about Mario,Pokemon,Star Fox wich isn’t mature eather. But, I like to have the option, to play those games atleast.
The Nintendo Switch need only Overwatch.
Its Nintendo’s Spotlight, they don’t talk about 3rd party games there.
30 minutes is not a lot of time, and I suspect 2/3s of that time will be on stuff we already know about (Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2). E3 is the place to show off new stuff and I don’t have a ton of faith that we’ll see much of it with a timeframe like that. Even their 2015 presentation was longer (but was mostly utter garbage).

Oh crap.. I was hoping for at least 45 mins to an hour. I’m getting worried about this E3 now, whereas before I was hyped. Hopefully they save a lot of the info on games we already know about for when they do the tournaments (like Splatoon 2, Pokken Tourney Deluxe, ARMS, etc.)
I know they will spend time on Mario Odyssey. That is a given. I really want to see them B R I N G the G A M E S
like, if they show us new Metroid and a Smash Bros remastered, plus a third party exclusive (like Bayo 3 or maybe they saved Scalebound?) then their E3 will be good. Also throw in a trailer of upcoming 3rd party games and multiplats they are getting too.
I need their stock to go up after their show not down!!!
If Nintendo has three big title announcements, they’re fine. 30 minutes is more than enough for that. If they just show off Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2 for 25 minutes, then we have problems.

Breath of the wild and many other games will look alot better if nintendo had made a console like it was on gamecube era. MARK MY WORDS! THIS DIRECT IS GOING TO BE ABYSMAL! These 30 minutes will also include 3DS time and trailers/gameplay of games we already know (Xenoblade, that Rabbids game, Shin Megami Tensei etc.)!! Nintendo usually also includes 3rd party titles in their Directs. This means that Nintendo will only have a few new trailers to show.for the Switch with most games probably releasing early to late 2018. Expect one killer app like Metroid Prime 4, releasing in 2018 AND THAT’S IT. The rest will be mediocre announcements that noone cares about.

5 years? You’re generous! To me, the last exciting E3 was when Nintendo announced the Wii. But the excitement soon faded because the games were meh. The last time I remember that Nintendo actually delivered was in the GameCube era.

I think it’s just that you and I probably have much different tastes in games. First off, I don’t play indies at all, which eliminates A LOT of games for me. Second, Splatoon and Arms don’t interest me. I’m glad other people love them. They just don’t appeal to me. I am pretty hopeful for the new Sonic games and Mario Odyssey though. And Pikmin 4 if it gets announced.
I expect nothing but horror. Absolute horror. So when I’m proven wrong, I’ll be ecstatic.
