The Nintendo E3 Presentation Is Now Being Slated At 25 Minutes Long

As of this article’s writing, it has not even been half a day since we relayed to you the news that Nintendo’s presentation for E3 2017 would be roughly 30 minutes long. However, there has been some new developments that seem to contradict this. An image provided below suggests that Nintendo’s presentation will not be 30, but 25 minutes. We don’t know why this is the case, but we do know that the presentation may only focus on Switch news, with 3DS announcements happening during on Treehouse Live. Whatever the case, don’t expect a lengthy Nintendo E3 presentation for this year.

    1. You should know better by now. Optimism always leads to disappointment with Nintendo announcements. Always expect the worst, so when they do announce something worthwhile it’s a pleasant surprise.

      1. I couldn’t be pessimistic if I tried. Things have been too good for Nintendo recently. I doubt I’ll be disappointed though; or rather, if I am dissapointed, it’ll only last for a moment or two. I know full well how these things can go. The logical side of me keeps the optimism in check. Besides, we already know there are some great games coming soon. Anything new announced on Tuesday is just something extra to look forward to.

    2. Nintendo has had some stinker announcements in the past. They could easily destroy the momentum they created with a bad E3. Let’s hope not. I’m not being pessimistic really. I just know Nintendo and the reality of the situation.

  1. “we do know that the presentation may only focus on Switch news” – with this logic everyone knows everything. I know that Shigeru Miyamoto himself may give me $1,000,000 tomorrow.

  2. Maybe it’s similar to that Direct where it showed game after game after game. I’d really like that format for E3.

    1. I hope that format is used too but you know Nintendo’s E3 antics are going to be in the presentation so that’s going to take some time from that and every single second is going to count if it’s only lasting 25 minutes.

*sigh* I give it 20 minutes spent talking about stuff we’re already aware of with the last 5 being spent on something NO ONE asked for. Like FedshitForce back at E3 2015.

    1. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at PS4 while Awaiting Greatness on Switch!}

I hope Ninty proves me wrong…

    2. More than likely that’s going to be the case. I’m not a fan of Arms and was really burnt out on MK 8 from the Wii U. So my Switch has been idle since I beat BotW. They better have some good news and not some stupid multiplayer bullshit. I want Xenoblade 2 or Metroid, or some other single player experience. Mario will be nice but it’s not enough.

    3. Kalas, my son..
you are not like quadraxis, you do not have to live in that kirby’s dreamland..
obinna sasori saved you of such purgatory and only wants you to play the best..
the only thing he asks you in return..
      is a dog..
      you know, doggy style

  4. 25 minutes for news on Odyssey? Indie games? Unannounced games? Either they don’t want to talk about the games and just show the new ones or they dont have a ton of shit in the works… I pray they only want to show off trailers…

      1. Agreed… I guess for me, if one of those games is the Smash bros port (like MK8 Deluxe) or even a new Star Fox (that is what the fans want and not a pointless change) then I’ll be totally fine

  5. This doesn’t have me very optimistic, like at all. They’ll undoubtedly talk about the online service, announced games like ARMS, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade 2, Mario Odyssey, FE Warriors, indie titles, ports, localizations, and how much would be left? Just enough to talk about Mario Rabbids?

      1. Characters for one thing, Hyrule Warriors had plenty of trailers. While I’m looking forward to this game, time is precious if it’s only 25 minutes long.

    1. People like you are the reason Nintendo is fine with giving us bare minimum and why they don’t sell as many systems as Sony or Microsoft. One game is absolutely inexcusable. And animal crossing of all games? That’s a nice series, but ain’t a system seller and the vast majority would be highly upset if all we got was animal crossing. Think beyond yourself and what you want. Switch should have much more games to offer with all the drought time from Wii U as well as the already exiting drought for the switch.

  6. Only 25 little minutes, and they’ll probably waste the entire thing showing games we already know about. Such as Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey etc. I was relying on this E3 to find out about lots of upcoming Switch games. I feel a major disappointment coming (AGAIN). This is probably the least excited I’ve ever been for E3. I didn’t even realize it was so soon.

      1. 25 minutes ain’t shit dude. I don’t know how old you are but 25 minutes isn’t enough time to show much at all unless they just say “Here’s games!” and release a long video with a bunch of games without saying anything. And they did a little trailer last year I think with lots of games shown real quick and most were indie games and they are shown too fast to capture you. 25 minutes means they ain’t got shit, for three straight years now.

With how much time Ninty likes to devote to games we’re already aware of or games most people don’t care about at E3, 25 minutes isn’t long enough for Nintendo. So either it’s gonna be a steady stream of trailers with barely any rambling from Nintendo or they honestly don’t have shit to show us yet for the Switch. :/ (I pray it’s not the latter.)

  7. This is maybe the Most important E3 on the Nintendo history..and they better make some good announcements..since it is the New console..and the most critical and important a new console after..the Huge failure.. they must get back the trust with this e3 from the people who are also not funs on nintendo…otherwise…

    1. People don’t wait a year to get excited for less than a half hour of their favorite company talking about new games. Treehouse will be longer yes but it’s not the same. E3 is supposed to be a video game Holiday and Nintendo has been slowing killing that tradition the past number of years. No matter what you say, nobody is happy with 25 minutes even if they show off a lot. We waited all year to see the fun goofy presentations they used to put on and also have lots of good info to drop. You used to spend your whole day chilling with your friends watching. Now it’s become something you might watch live or just catch when you are free or just read highlights cause you know nothing special is gonna come.

      1. 25 minutes is fine if it’s anything like the other directs. It just depends on what they announce, and you know the Treehouse will feature the gameplay of the announced games so that won’t take up any of the 25. You know the osurprises are coming, Nintendo has been (somewhat) listening to fans and most of all, it hasn’t even happened yet so you can be disappointed if you want but it just won’t make much sense to me.

  8. I read all of your comments and I think this. We have a Spotlight that will be long 25 or 30 minutes. Ok no problem here but you all forget about the Treehouse.

      1. “fanboy” the go to when you have no argument.

I’m expecting anything. Instead of getting all hyper or doom and gloom, I’m just waiting to see what they reveal. I’ve already proved multiple times I’m not a fanboy, but keep calling me that if it makes you feel better.

  9. This is the fear, that Nintendo’s normally amazing line up of first party games won’t be enough and the support isn’t actually there. At this point, I would say we’re dangerously close to that happening again.

I don’t get the whole ” oh they’re ramping up the production of systems!” When so far a boatload of Indie titles and of course the expected Nintendo titles are really the only things going for the system.

  10. Why is Nintendo such a cancer when it comes to E3? Other developers and big leagues are whippin’ it out on the counter to make people give their biggies “Ooh!” and “AHH!”, but Nintendo has to shit the bed and give small insight to the future and replace it with video footage of staff members playing the demo of games we have already heard about.

This will be 25 minutes of a couple big titles, one of which being something we’ve already heard about, one will be something questionable like Federation Force, and the rest will be pathetic side scrolling indie titles that nobody but reviewers and other indie devs give a shit about.

      1. Man you’re pathetic “fanboy destroyer.” XD Profanity and name calling is all you have, isn’t it? He was not being serious in the slightest, he was being a salty little troll that think they’ll spend 25 minutes talking about to titles. But keep trying. I love seeing you guys try.~
