Surprisingly, despite The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim being a game that Bethesda has developed and published in the past, the Nintendo Switch port of Skyrim will be breaking this pattern. According to Nintendo’s E3 website, the Nintendo Switch version of Skyrim will be published by Nintendo themselves. What this means exactly, outside of some Nintendo-assisted promotion, is not clear at the moment, but it does stand out immensely that Bethesda is not publishing their own game.
Thought this might be the case.

I guess this could’ve been part of the deal between Nintendo and Bethesda: Nintendo picks up the publishing costs?
I was dead set on buying the switch version since I never played Skyrim before but then Sony revealed Skyrim VR and now im not sure which one to buy lol portability is amazing but so is vr
think of it this way, do you want Breath of the Wild Skyrim or an overly glorified first-person perspective with an overly glorified motion controls? What is cheaper? Game and amiibo(s) or game and VR headset? I won’t tell you what you should go for but I’m gonna buy the Switch version because I never play Skyrim and I wanna play it on the go.
Yea I think I’ma get the switch version for portability and then just try and get the PS4 version for cheap if I like it enough to play in vr lol
VR isn’t as much of a big deal as you might think. if you already have the VR headset, then yeah, maybe it’s worth it, but if not and you already have the switch, that one’s a better value.
Yea I have the headset that’s the only way I would ever consider it lol
I myself don’t care anything about VR.
So Nintendo pretty much paid for this Switch port. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but it makes me wonder how much support is Bethesda really gonna give Nintendo & their Switch after Skyrim releases.
If it’s successful they might consider other games but I wouldn’t expect ESVI.
This isn’t the first time Nintendo publishing 3rd party games. They’ve done that before with Lego City Undercover and both Bayonetta 1 and 2.
And this clarify that western third parties just don’t care about Nintendo. Peace.
Bethesda published this game on Switch.
