The announcement which closed the Ubisoft conference on Sunday was a big one. Yes, Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in development, but it was unclear which platforms the game would come to. I was going to post about the announcement but judging from the developers talk it sounded like it is set to be a massive shared world adventure with state of the art visuals which could possibly count the Nintendo Switch out. You can now register for the Space Monkey Program which is a kind of beta but the platforms listed are Xbox One, PlayStation 4, And PC only. There’s absolutely no mention of the Switch. Also retailers are taking pre-orders for the game (this early? Yes) and there’s no Nintendo Switch option.

Nintendo didn’t fuck anything up. All of these games would easily run on switch and developers came right out and said that they would run. Porting also doesn’t seem to be the problem. it’s just them being lazy about it. Also they just put out bullshit arguments about it. most of them say: We could, it would run, but there are no plans at the moment.
The switch is doing great, has good sales and the installbase grows. There’s no reason to not put your game on switch.

So what is your reasoning why they all abandon it? The switch is a fast selling console with a growing consumer-base. The developers outright stated that all of these games could easily run on the switch. Nintendo’s support seems to be great and there’s a lot of first party tiltes with a lot of hype around to help shifting more consoles.
Why are developers abandoning the console then?
It’s not as powerfull as you or according to you they claim it to be. I just started playing Horizon on PS4 wich I got as a present, and I doubt the Switch can run that, if I look at games like Mario. Besides they might still have to downgrade it for the Switch wich is a problem. Nintendo’s online system isn’t great eather. If the Switch had the same or better power than the others I’m sure these games would be released. The Gamecube had the power and the support.
BTW I have heared the developers of Titanfall say it can’t run there game so the same can be said about the rest just look at the graphics of these games and compare them to everything Nintendo has shown us :God of War, Horizon DLC, Days Gone, Uncharted, Shadow of the Colossus , Monster Hunter World, Detroit Become Human, Destiny 2, Cod 2 , Spiderman , Metro Exodus , Assassins Creed, Anthem.
Not one game I have seen on the Switch comes close to this. Not to mention Dragon quest wich has a Cartoon style runs smooth on ps4 but not on the switch as tons of youtube video’s can show you.
I think if they porting a game that already exists in other consoles, the people will not buy it, UNLESS they put exclusive content just like in Skyrim and Rocket League and people will surely buy it.
I hope to see exclusive content on Overwatch when this game will come out on the Switch.

Who cares about sales if its a great game that will be a “Gem” in gaming history. Wii Golf got played by everyone and his mother that doesn’t make it a great game though. Ill take Mario or Zelda over it any day of the week.
I said this all the way until E3. I’ll start worrying I’d by E3 we don’t have big 3rd party announcements. Switch already has more support than Wii U, but definitely not big games. I would have liked the Dragon Ball Z game, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite or Resident Evil, but not even Beyond Good and Evil came, which was sooo confirmed :(.

It’s insane that Nintendo missed out on all those big releases. Dragon Ball, Marvel vs Capcom, MH5, Beyond G/E (which was rumored to be a Nintendo exclusive!) I think the Switch will still sell well, but it’s still a huge disappointment.
This is another huge beating in my opinion it was one of the best games on the gamecube.

People want the games on the Switch because of the portability factor. The Switch is a more versatile and fun system that the PS4. What’s wrong with people wanting to play their favorite games on the superior console?

I own a PS4 and wouldn’t it be for some games that I really want to play, I would abandon the thing. My switch is getting more play time than my PS4. A lot more. It’s a console that you can take portable with the power of a normal console. Whyt would you want more?
But not everything can run on it. It’s a ****ing handheld. Stop with nonsense, it’s not a PS4, it will not get many games. It will get Nintendo, some 3rd party exclusive content (ex. Rabids), and some multiplatforms games, that’s it. Stop asking The World.

Sure, I’ll play this on my PC (which is of course much more powerful than a PS4). But if I had the choice, I’d definitely choose to play it on my Switch, even if it means downgraded graphics. The only reasons to get a PS4 over a gaming PC are a few interesting exclusives and a lower price.
A PS4 is basically a gaming PC from 2013. You would call
a gaming PC from 2013 superior to a Nintendo handheld/console hybrid that can run the latest frostbite engine? No way. I like my PS4 too, but it’s an inferior system to the Switch. Every time I play a PS4 game or any game for that matter I can’t help but to think how much I’d rather be playing it on the Switch.

I believe Valid is saying be a realist and realize for the most part that scenario is not going to happen, which you can A, either supplement your console family or B, accept and be okay with knowing for the most part there will be 3rd party parity differences. I grew up a Nintendo gamer myself and will always support them in some form or fashion as their software products are flat out outstanding but I also realize for my preference I enjoy owning multiple consoles, doesn’t mean I wouldn’t rather have versions of games on my Switch that releasing on my Xbox or Playstation (rpgs, rts, platformers you damn right i would!) but I understand how business has been for the past decade or so…
with developers now looking at developing games in 4k 60 frames per second or at the very least 1080p 60 frames per second with Advanced shading, I just think if you were in fewer Devs are going to want to downscale their games for the switch.
It’s another 2 console Generation. 1 Nintendo console for Nintendo games and a standard PC console for the higher-end games.
I think Microsoft’s decision to ask developers to create games that play on the Xbox one even if they’re developing on the Xbox One S or X wasn’t very smart but I sure am thankful that I don’t have to upgrade my Hardware to play the new games.
if Nintendo did not announce Metroid Prime 4 I would be getting an Xbox x as soon as it came out, for now I think I’ll just bide my time playing the games that are coming out on the standard Xbox One and then buy a Nintendo switch Metroid Prime 4 bundle when it comes out, and with it gets you know Blade Chronicles 2 probably at a discount.

Ive decided I’m going to jump in at Metroid 4. At that time, the bugs will be worked out of online play, I’ll get X2 and any other exclusives that might come out between now and then.

Yeah. :/ We will never live in a world where we can have Nintendo games and 3rd party on a single console again. It’s not in Nintendo’s grand plan, and I’m sorry, I’ve been playing Mario, Kirby, DK, Yoshi (Mushroom kingdom games) all my life, up to a year or so ago when I finally broke ranks and bought a non-Nintendo system.
I LIKE online voice chat with friends and family. I LIKE games that are not all bright and colorful all the time. And I want more than a handful every couple years!
Hopefully Switch will make the long journey back to earn Nintendo respect among gamers. It has certainly taken several big steps that direction. Maybe by the time Metroid Prime comes out, 3rd parties will have joined in mass, and not just a couple, bringing old ports to the table. (Which don’t get me wrong, I love old ports sometimes! Hell, I’m loving 1-2 year old games like they are brand new because I have so much catching up from only having Nintendo systems for decades)
At the very least, Switch is a break from the Wii Era, and a movement back to where Nintendo should be. I’m just not investing any more in their hardware for a while. I put my time in, long live the original Nintendo fans gone Rogue! :D
and one more thing don’t put it past some of these third-party companies to hand their game over to another company to Port it to switch later!

Obviously, technical reasons may hinder ports to Switch as it harbors an inferior hardware when compared to real, actual home consoles. So, nothing to regret here.

I’m just pissed MH5/World was announced for the west before MHXX for 3ds and Switch. Capcom just spat in everyone’s face with that. They should have announced MHXX for the west at the same time they announced MH World.
I swear I think Capcom only use western fans as a way to meet their sales quotas in order to impress everyone at their investors meetings. If MHXX isn’t announced for the west then I’m done with Capcom. I’m glad MH is coming back to ps but I still want MHXX in the west.
I put 500+ hours into MHgen and to think that I can’t even play Grank quests because Capcom wanted to be assholes towards wester MH Gen owners is just asinine.
