Although E3 is currently taking place, it is time to see how the various software and hardware is performing in Japan. To be fair it has been a reasonably quiet week with next week being one of the bigger weeks with the release of the long-awaited ARMS on the Nintendo Switch. Talking of the Nintendo Switch, it was once again the best-selling console comfortably outselling the PlayStation 4. Here’s the charts for Japan:

Not to sound like a troll or a Nintendo hater (which I’m definitely not), but it truly feels like the Switch is selling for absolutely no reason, other than the Nintendo brand. Because in my opinion, Zelda is the only reason to own a Switch at the moment. I have zero interest in anything else until that Mario Rabbids game (and Odyssey) release later this year. Can’t wait for that Breath Of The Wild DLC. It’ll wake my Switch back up for a while.

and other games that I don’t remeber.
That’s why the Wii U is still seeling in Japan.

I don’t bought the Wii U because University taxes are to high. If the taxes are more cheap I’m sure I already bought the Wii U but then I heard the new consoles I waited to buy the new one and I’m happy with the Switch.

I am kinda surprised to see it sell that well in Japan. Because it does not have them games that usually get Japanese march on the streets for. Maybe it is because of portability.
But I’m just wondering how well they will sell when they do get those games.
It seems like that’s just your personal preference. Nothing wrong with that, but plenty of people are loving MK8D, and plenty of people are excited for Splatoon, Xenoblade, and apparently Mario+Rabbids now?
I don’t doubt that a lot of the hype is due to Zelda and people just getting caught up in the excitement of a new, successful Nintendo console, but there are games out or coming out that people have a reason to be excited for.
Or maybe people have different tastes apart from yours and are buying the switch to play that…just an idea.
for me personally: botw, mk8d, usf2, new bomberman!, neogeo games!, fast rmx, g.e.m. and kamiko are neat little indie games, puyo puyo tetris and nba playgrounds are really fun multi player games i could have got on ps4 but the fact that i can bring them anywhere is much more awesome. i just tried the blaster master demo the other day and it’s really cool so i’ll probably get that soon. ARMS is in a few days and the testpunch was fun so i’ll probably get that soon. mario and the magic hat and metroid prime 4 will be awesome in the future. i’ll probably eventually get minecraft because i’m impressed with all the support it’s getting. but more than anything I CAN NOT WAIT FOR SPLATOON 2!!! but yeah, to each their own lol
Yeah there are games really fun. I don’t understand why people are saying the Switch hasn’t games. I think the Switch has already much more games than the Wii U and the Switch doesn’t show the Virtual Console and other things.

A system continue to sell if there is interest in it. Not everyone can buy a console instaly, some wait to get some money together, or to have the chance to find the console, etc.
It’s not about just ‘new releases’, in fact PS4 still sell.
You’re not wrong. I haven’t picked up a Switch for this very reason and will be waiting for a bigger game library before I drop any money on it.
