Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Players Are Already Complaining About Unbalanced Characters

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was officially announced less than a week ago, but players have already begun to complain about balancing playable characters based on the upcoming game’s E3 2017 demo. For example, a number of E3 attendees are saying that Rabbid Luigi is overpowered and are requesting Ubisoft to nerf him. Ubisoft has responded to this particular criticism by making a note of it and sending it over to the development team. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is scheduled to launch on August 29 for Nintendo Switch, so there should be enough time for Ubi to make any necessary changes.

    1. It’s not so easy, you have to change it for the better then you have to test it, and when you do testing you are going to waste much time because you can’t just play ‘one level’ but you need to be certain to not hit a stall in some points of the game. It’s isn’t an easy job QA, not a thing of a day.
Also you can do very little changes when you are near to Gold. It’s easier to patch later.

    2. “how hard is to nerf something? just low some numbers on the code lol. :P”
I’m not trying to sound peachy, but I guess you don’t exactly know how the game development works. Sure, when you’re making a small smartphone game, maybe, but development in such wide game si very strict, every single change must be properly considered and voted, also very strictly tasted, And of course, game must be finished into the final version long time before the release date, because of mass physical production.

    3. Love when people who does not about development underplays the whole thing treating like it was ‘ez’….
You probably saw people posting patch notes of Smash Bros characters and think that the whole thing is just changing values and it’s over….

Not only do they have to lower the numbers of the code but they also have to do play testing to make sure they didn’t lower the numbers too low to where the character then becomes underpowered. Hence why the process is called balancing.

          1. Nothing about the Rabbids is redeemable, and I can’t tell you the countless amount of times their screams have given me headaches. They only serve as an annoyance, and their existence is the thing that’s “not needed”.

I’m pretty sure they do these demos for more than just giving people a chance to play a game early before release. They most likely also do it in the hopes the players will notice something they didn’t & let them know so they can fix it before release.

  1. How long was that demo? No, seriously. No matter how lighthearted, this is a strategy game. Unless we’re talking a few hours of play, any claims of “overpowered character” come just straight out of people’s behinds.

    1. When the complaints are enough to warrant a response from the company, which saays that they will take note and look into possibly making changes to the game, yes. That is newsworthy.

  2. I’m sorry but this game let me down lots at E3, I won’t be buying it until it comes down in price like £20 haha

  3. This is why having Gamers and not just Journalists Only is a good thing.
The Gamers can point out the flaws with very little bias, whilst Journalists in the gaming industry can be swayed to not speak ill will about a game.

It’s good to see that Ubisoft is taking notes though, and maybe with Gamers at E3, we’ll finally see games that aren’t rushed messes or just terrible.

  4. I still can’t believe Ubisoft actually made a good game, with Mario characters no less, that I’m truly excited for, and I don’t play or like Mario or Ubi.
Did hell just freeze over because I’m actually praising Ubisoft for once, and I hate them like a male lion hates hyenas? What kind of voodoo are they using over at Ubi, because we just witnessed a miracle with this game O_O
    Either way I can’t wait.

  7. Isn’t part of the reason of showing it and putting out demos to get this feedback? It’s not out for a few more months, easy enough to fix it or create a launch-day patch.

Exactly what I told Carlos up above. A demo is most likely put out for more than just giving gamers early access to part of a future game but to point out stuff the devs might have missed so they can be fixed before release.
