While Nintendo haven’t had a fantastic few years in terms of console market share, it looks like their brands continue to have a massive impact. According to NPD Market Research, both Mario and Pokémon are alongside Star Wars and Frozen as the top licences in the U.S market. This comes from their study of the importance of licences for children under the age of 14. Minecraft and Call of Duty are two other video games that managed to make it into the top ten. As long as they don’t start bitching “this game is corrupting my child,” they can buy it for their 5 year old for all I care. (I won’t buy such a game for my kid, though. Nope!)

This isn’t surprising in the US. For many people that support guns, some support the idea of their kids playing games with guns & even let their kid use a gun (at the practice range, of course, but still. *cringes*)
There’s no provable correlation there. My family are long-time hunters and conservationists. My brother would never let any of his three kids play a realistic first-person shooter, let alone an M-rated game. I won’t even play games like CoD while the kids are over at my place.
Also, while none of my nieces or nephews have ever used a gun, they’ve been taught from a very young age just what guns are capable of and how dangerous they can be. For people who do support guns or plan on owning guns, it’s important to teach children from a young age how to safely and properly handle them, that includes using them at ranges.
Kid: Can I get Call of Duty for my bday? Everyone talkes about it at school!
Parent: Whatever makes you happy kiddo.

Parent: Omg this game has guns and violence! *rants on facebook*
I get disgusted when I’m in a store, and I see a little kid looking at games like Call Of Duty. Especially if they’re with their parents. and you can just tell their parents are letting them play it. That’s why kids today are so messed up. Aside from that, ANYONE who plays Call Of Duty is messed up.
