Lost Sphear Director On Listening To Fan Feedback For I Am Setsuna & More

The director for the Nintendo Switch game, I Am Setsuna, which is available on the eShop right now, has spoken about the development of the upcoming title Lost Sphear. The beautiful Square Enix game was showcased at E3 this year and Kotaku got the chance to conduct an interview with Atsushi Hashimoto. They spoke about listening to fan feedback for I Am Setsuna, the length of Lost Sphear and more. Here are a few excerpts but you can check out the whole interview here if you wish.

On fan feedback, most notably about the battle system from I Am Setsuna:

“We got a lot of feedback from people who played I Am Setsuna, and they said they were feeling a little limited by the fact [that they couldn’t move around],” Hashimoto said. “We did a number of experiments, and then we decided to be able to move characters freely was the best approach.”

On game-breaking combo’s that you could perform in I Am Setsuna:

“If you found a certain way of defeating enemies [in I Am Setsuna] you could keep repeating that one winning formula, and it could maybe get a little stale,” he said. “This time around, we give the enemies more depth to make them something you can really sink your teeth into. Rather than making them harder, give them more damage, we decided to make sure that you have to really think about how to beat each one separately.”

On the length of Lost Sphear:

“Originally we were aiming to make it the same length [as I Am Setsuna],” Hashimoto said. “Ultimately it’s worked out to be a slightly longer game. It probably will take you about 30 hours.”

We can expect the title to be released next year sometime. It’ll also be available on Playstation 4 and PC.

This game has my interest. I wonder if it can keep it. Is this Switch exclusive or is it on other consoles?

I missed that part. Unless Nintenmau5 put that in after my question. If after my question, awesome!
