With the release of the first Breath of the Wild DLC Pack coming tomorrow, Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma sat down to talk about one of the items being added to the game. Alongside a Tingle costume and Midna’s Helmet, the DLC will add Majora’s Mask to the game. According to Aonuma, this was the first piece of DLC armour he suggested. This is unsurprising as Majora’s Mask was the first Zelda game which Aonuma directed. The full interview is available on Nintendo’s website.
When the development team started discussing including armor items associated with previous The Legend of Zelda games, I was the first one to speak up: “Please add Majora’s Mask!”
When you acquire this mask in the Master Trials and equip it, it has the effect of making minor enemies like Bokoblins, Moblins, and Stal enemies think that Link is part of their group, so that they won’t attack Link. (Although Kilton might complain: “You’re hurting my business!”) If you’re not good at combat, I recommend you try this mask out.
The mask’s design is true to the original, but its size was been modified many times to match the size of Link, as if he’s Skull Kid wearing Majora’s Mask. It looks even more creepy at night… But don’t worry—the moon will not fall in this game.
That is charming as heck, Lord Aonuma.

P3. Seems like they’re missing a lot of opportunities with these dlc items. They couldn’t come up with a more unique special ability for this mask?
I think they are trying not to reinvent the wheel with this DLC and also trying not to break game mechanics too badly. Right now, they are trying to subtly enhance the game, not necessarily extend it.
It actually is pretty unique. Now you don’t have to switch between all the different Kilton masks and you can blend in with enemies even when it’s a diverse group and not just one type. What would’ve been really cool though is if it scared them but I’ll take this instead.

Now I want to see that mask in every future Zelda game from here on out! Same goes for the Fierce Deity Gear. Just… don’t lock it behind an amiibo again since Nintendo did a shitty job in stocking the Majora’s Mask Link amiibo at Best Buy! I wonder if it’s gotten a restock yet on there? Highly fucking doubtful. :/
Good gravy, homebro. Get over the Amiibo stock thing, ya dungus, it’s such a weak argument. Maybe look beyond best buy? … Craigslist? Local paper classifieds? ebay? offerup? gsalr? facebook classifieds? LetGo? NFC tags from etsy? some look pretty cool, even have some as coins. got a smart phone with an nfc writer/that can act as the amiibo without tags, which cost literal pennies anyway and permantly hold the code? got an acquaintenance with such a phone? you won’t get the paper weight, but you’ll get the ability, which seems to be your particular complaint for at least this post. (In other posts you claimed you preferred to go and pick it up from a store in person, so which is? you want the abilty? or the item bought directly from store?)

Guy, I know no one will likely see this message en masse, and that’s all the better, but you will if you have notifications turned on or what have you. Hopefully you can understand in all seriousness that I say this to you as genuinely and as personally as this medium can afford: why do you and others on the site choose to do this, brother? I know you like Nintendo and video games in general, this truly can’t be fun for you, what you do here. Weak argument? So wanting better stock at websites like Best Buy, GameStop, & Amazon so I don’t have to hunt down something I shouldn’t have to do so for or even pay more than an item is worth is a weak argument? *rolls eyes* Whatever. If anything I’ve seen the fanboys stroking their own egos and historical (Google search) knowledge more so then us being negative/truthful.
I find it worse when people go off into solutions or alternatives to a problem with Nintendo when we all should know by now that they’re a corporation and they don’t care about us.
Also how someone spends their time is no ones business. Just as he, you, me comment on here it’s a personal choice. At the end of the day we’re all Nintendo fans in some shape or form, or we’re trolls, but whatever it may be that’s the community in MNN (until Disqus comes in and we can block each other).
As for the topic at hand we shouldn’t have to find alternatives for a supply issue that Nintendo should better manage after so long in the industry. Period. You either call them out or be happy with mediocrity.
